Overview:What is CASA:
- It is a national, non-profit association that supports and promotes court-appointed advocates for abused or neglected children in order to provide children with a safe and healthy environment- Today there are more than 68,000 advocates serving in 1018 states and local program offices nationwide
Mission & Goal:
• Educate the public on issues and activities relating to CASA Fairfax and Youth Advocacy
• Increase volunteerism; help recruit, screen and train potential volunteer advocates
• Increase contributions to CASA Fairfax and its partner organizations
• Keep people aware and involved in the CASA mission
• Maintain consistency and synergy with the national CASA program

Usability testing: Task Analysis was performed to determine effectiveness and efficiency of the websiteTasks performed where:– Find Volunteer application form– Donate funds to CASA online– Donate funds to CASA via mail– Find FAQs– Log in to CASA website
Card Sorting:– How do users expect the information to be organized and
categorized?– What terminology and labels do they find confusing and
what better terms can we use?

• Content lacks clarity and consistency• Content is not well organized – too much information or lack of
relevant information• Content title is missing or inconsistent• Contextual content does not make much sense• Breadcrumbs are not used, making it difficult to navigate• Not enough segregation between Global and Local navigation
menu• Pages are too long• Organization Structure or Navigational Hierarchy is too wide• Labels are confusing and not well categorized• Event Calendar needs improvement• Lacks consistency with National CASA website• Metadata is not utilized• Graphics are not attractive
