Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) has its operation at Korba in the state of Chhattisgarh with a
smelter capacity of 5.70 LTPA with capabilities to produce ingots, wire rods and rolled products. The company
has power generation capacity of 2010 MW. BALCO has two Bauxite Mines at Mainpat and Kawardha and one
coal block at Chotia.

Head HSE (Projects)
Grade Associate General Manager. Grade – M3
Reporting To Head Projects

Role & Responsibilities
Implementation and follow of work permit system – classification of Class 1 & Class 2 permits. Especially working experience in high Amperage Aluminium smelter technology shall be added advantage
Work closely with Owner’s Engineer’s (OEC) to implement & establish safety system in the site.
Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be mitigated.
Outline safe operational procedures after identifying and taken into account all relevant hazards.
Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
Shall be thorough with latest standards & norms of HSE and to implement the same from the inception of the contracts (basically EPC basis).
Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers.
Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.
Identify, Manage and organize the safe disposal of hazardous substances.

Associate Manager HSE (Projects)

Reporting To Head HSE & Head Smelter Projects

Role & Responsibilities

Role & Responsibilities
Framing QAP along with Owner’s Engineer & implementing it in the EPC Bid.
Review and approve the Quality Assurance Plan submitted by the Contractor and recommendation
to monitor quality as per best industrial practices/ IS/ International codes.
Ensuring right quality of machinery and equipment available at site, timely completion, the quality of
erection and installation at site.
Conduct quality review meetings & Generate NCR reports and ensure the compliance of NCR.
Close coordination with respective area In-Charges to ensure timely redressal & compliance of QAP

Role & Responsibilities
Understand work scope, quantity and familiar with logical sequences in terms of engineering and construction disciplines along with complete initial WBS for the project.
Prepare and lead overall project master schedule utilizing planning tools.
Gather, list, maintain, track, report, notify document and drawing details from/to the project team
Lead Schedule Management.
Set work program and target milestones for each phase based on the project plan.
Monitor critical activities based on the project schedule and advise project management.
Prepares and submit updated work program and cash flow curve showing actual progress and identify areas of weakness and establishes means and methods for recovery, if any, as well as new critical activities.
Monitor day to day work progress and prepare the weekly and monthly program and report.
Maintain and record update of site work progress obtained from Head Projects.
Prepares monthly report reflecting work progress summary.
Report to Head Projects about the current work progress and make comparison between plan and actual progress and study impact of alternative approaches to work.
Lead project meetings and discussions with the OEC & EPC Vendor as required.

Act as the point of contact between the executives and internal/external clients.
Undertake the tasks of receiving calls, take messages and routing correspondence.
Handle requests and queries appropriately.
Maintain diary, arrange meetings and appointments and provide reminders.
Make travel arrangements.
Take dictation and minutes and accurately enter data.
Monitor office supplies and research advantageous deals or suppliers.
Produce reports, presentations and briefs.
Develop and carry out an efficient documentation and filing system

Document Controller & Engineering Coordinator (Project Common)
Grade Associate Manager. Grade – M6/M7
Reporting To In Charge – Planning
Number of positions 1
Role & Responsibilities
Manage all technical documents for assigned projects regarding quality, revision status, timely receipt and distribution.
Utilization of database on document control system allowing for tracking of documents, checking of approval loops, revision identification etc.
Support the Project Team to receive, check and validate the drawings, input the drawings & Quality documents into the Database System, verify the metadata of each file and ensure timely distribution of the documents.
Ensure that circulation durations for distribution list and cycle are tracked and any deviations (delays) are reported, as these may impact the project delivery schedule.
The Document Controller is responsible for collecting the data, verifying the current revision status of the documents and distributing them. (I.e. preliminary, approval, construction, erection and as built documentation etc.) in close coordination with OEC & EPC Vendor.
Print and file hard copies of the documents and maintenance of updates to the document files. Receive and answer emails, input information into the system, create transmittals to recipients, track documentation, and ensure nothing is delayed that would affect the timing of the project
