While the show was pretty impressive and all, I'm sure you're all just here to read about the food right? Holdon to your hats, for after the show, we finally adjourned to the bright and airy function room, everyonebuzzing with anticipation of what was to come.

And come they did, beginning with the arancini balls that were essentially fried risotto balls with pumpkinand smoked mozzarella.

It was love at first bite. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with all the melt-y cheese goodness, thiswas one classic Italian dish you would be crazy to not order! It whetted my appetite for the rest of the whatwas to come.

Next was the seared scallops with parsnip puree and garlic finished with caper berries and homemadecrumbed potato chips.

Did someone say potato chips?

Say no more!

How plump and juicy it was! I love scallops so imagine my pleasure when I sank my teeth into the tender andyet bouncy meat and it yielded oh-so-fresh scallop juice. The slight crunchiness from the crumbed potatochips also provided just the perfect foil for all that creaminess.

I had never tried zucchini flowers but if all zucchini flowers taste like Casa's, you bet I'll order them fromnow on. These were soft, juicy and flavorful! Even the hubby who doesn't like squash-type vegetables loved

them.

Oh hello calamari, my favorite more-ish starter. You can't go wrong with this right? Actually, you can, if yourbatter to meat ratio is off. Thankfully, that wasn't the case with Casa's, as these were essentially meaty andjuicy squid throughout, with enough crispiness and seasoning from the batter to bring them to a didn't-go-wrong level. And loosen-your-pants-and-screw-your-diet level.

Aka what yours truly did. Ehem.

Page 6: Caramel Love May 28 2014

But I digress. Anyway, to move on, ladies and gentlemen, we have come to the most anticipated moment ofthe day, where our mains would be brought to our table to be deconstructed and devoured. All part andparcel of the job, mind you. Beginning with Sihan from Snap Eat Love's pork belly.

I think I saw everyone's eyes turn green at the very instant and man! If it wasn't a totally justified reactionbecause she was kind enough to let us sample some and... okay, let's just say I had to swivel my head to seeif anyone just heard the very loud, unlady-like crunch when I bit into the crazily crispy skin. The crunchinesswas unreal! And forgive me for sounding like a prepubescent boy but oh man, I gotta get me some of DATnext time!

XD

My spaghetti marinara that was doused in squid ink sauce came afterwards and I wasn't disappointed. Freshprawns and mussels abound, making for one very pleasing pasta dish. The spaghetti was also al-dente, justthe way everyone likes it!

Page 7: Caramel Love May 28 2014

I repeat: Fresh prawns!

They were so generous with it I stopped counting after the fourth prawn... and just savored the rest. Thesquid ink sauce was sufficient to coat everything with some leftovers to boot, which I also greedily slurpedup. All part of the job. Really. :D

Some other dishes that I won't delve too much into because I did not taste them. They're just here to pleaseyour eyes, and hopefully make you salivate.

Page 8: Caramel Love May 28 2014

If you want to know what these are or taste like, you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled for more Casa'sblog post reviews. Ditto some of the desserts!

I did, however, tried the hubby's Maialina pizza and oh boy oh boy oh boy, I really thought it was one of themost perfect pizza I have ever had! Not that I was ever the pizza connoisseur but correct me if I am wrong;the perfect pizza should have a crispy base that gives off a fragrant fresh pastry smell mixed with smokinessfrom a traditional woodfire oven. It should also be heavy enough with cheese that it droops when you hold itin your hand and the ingredients, fresh and aplenty.

This was one such pizza. One that you bite into and go ahhhhh, life's simple pleasures...

Page 9: Caramel Love May 28 2014

Warm chocolate tart with strawberries, pistachio and salted caramel ice cream. Did not try but judging fromthe expressions of people who did, it was good.

As was the tiramisu.

Page 10: Caramel Love May 28 2014

The main star of the desserts, however, was definitely the sticky date pudding with vanilla bean ice cream, nougat and caramel sauce! I said so because the pudding was super moist with an addictive crust that justabout begged to be demolished. Pour the caramel sauce onto it and you can kiss your afternoon nap goodbyein order to hit the gym.

Because you won't be able to stop eating it. I promise.

Do visit for not just the views, but for the food too! Which is something one can finally say about arestaurant at the beautiful King Street Wharf.
