Holliday Park Nature Discovery Camps Holliday Park camps offer children a chance to explore nature through hands-on

experiences. Each day includes a nature lesson, hike, healthy snack, and craft.

Experienced camp counselors maintain a safe environment as they encourage

children to enjoy learning and spending time outdoors.

Camps are child-only programs. Children must meet the age requirements by

the start of camp to register. More detailed information about the camp is

emailed before the beginning of camp (please have a current email address on

file). Call 317-327-7180 with questions or for more information.

Registration Camp registration begins Monday, January 22, 2018.

Log on to www.indy.gov/camps (opens at 6 am on 1/22)

Call Indy Parks Customer Service at 317-327-PARK (opens at 8 am on 1/22)

Call or visit Holliday Park Nature Center at 317-327-7180 (opens at 9 am on

1/22). Leaving a message does NOT mean you are registered for camp.

Fees are due in full upon registration. We accept cash, check (payable to Indy

Parks), or all major credit cards.

No cash, credit card, or check refunds. If a request for cancellation is made more

than two weeks before the beginning of camp, a credit will be issued to your

Indy Parks account, minus a $15 non-refundable registration fee. If the camper is

withdrawn less than two weeks prior to first day of camp, only 50% of your costs

will be refunded. A $15 fee will be charged when transferring from one camp to

another.

Scholarships Indy Parks offers limited partial and full scholarships for camp. More information

on eligibility for scholarships can be found at www.indy.gov/camps.

Camps for 4-5-year-olds

Slippery, Slimy Science, May 29-June 1

Get dirty exploring the messy side of nature! Campers will discover the ooey

gooey world of natural science doing experiments inside our “lab” and out

along the trails, pond, and creeks. Camp starts Tuesday.

9 am-noon, TU-F, Group. A 14261, Group B 14267, $80.

Five Senses, June 18-22

Learn about nature with all five senses! Campers will use their own senses to

learn about how animals’ senses help them to survive, focusing on a different

sense each day.

9 am-noon, M-F, 14250 or 1-4 pm 14251, $90.

Flying Frenzy, July 2-6

Campers will learn that birds are not the only animals that fly. From insects to

bats, discover a new flying creature each day. No camp on Wednesday.

The Wild Bunch, July 30-August 3

This wild week introduces campers to Indiana wildlife as it grows and changes.

Campers meet the domestic and wild animals up-close, and hike the park trails

in search of wildlife.

Camps for 6-7-year-olds

Nature CSI, June 4-8 Become a nature super sleuth! Learn to use scientific tools, solve mysteries,

and investigate the natural world.

9 am-4 pm, M-F, 14259, $145

Insect Safari, June 18-22

Campers will make discoveries about interesting bugs each day, and will use

nets and other tools to catch insects in the pond, creek, and prairie.

9 am-4 pm, M-F, 14255, $145

Make a Splash! July 16-20

Discover all of the aquatic creatures that make water their home. Explore how

the animals in the pond, creek, and river survive and make a splash.

9 am-4 pm, M-F, Group A 14257, Group B 14258, $145

Eco Adventures, July 23-27

Through hands-on exploration, campers will explore the streams, forests,

prairies, and wetlands., using binoculars, bug nets, and microscopes to learn

what makes each habitat unique!
