In order to meet the individual needs of our clients,

FARAD since 1979, maintains a wide range of tubu-

lar heat exchangers such as Turbo charger Air Cool-

ers, Oil Coolers, Water Coolers, all kinds of Heaters,

Steam and Freon Condensers, Evaporators, serving

clients worldwide.

FARAD’s new goal is the, MGO cooling unit solu-

tion includes the planning, required technical

equipment and alteration work. If the customer so

wishes, the whole process can be carried out on

turnkey basis.

Our principle MGO can be design for any engine.

Surfaced problem

Ship’s fuel oil injection system is not designed to

use low sulphur fuel oil (low viscosity).

Fuel viscosity, combustion quality and lubricity are

some of the operational challenges.

Fuel oil injection components are going to be af-

fected and deteriorated.

Therefore fuel oil systems onboard have to be mod-

ifi ed.

Because of the lower viscosity of Marine Gas Oil, the

lubrication requirements of the engine manufactur-

er may not be met. In most marine diesel engines,

the viscosity of the fuel needs to be at least 2.0 cSt.

At normal temperature, the viscosity of MGO varies

between 1,2 cSt, which means that suffi cient en-

gine lubrication can no longer be guaranteed. The

viscosity can be improved with additives, but this

is relatively costly. However, there is a much more

aff ordable solution. FARAD know how!

FARAD’s MGO cooling unit: solve the problem

The solution off ered by FARAD is simple compact and

reliable. MGO cooling unit is required to installed on

the fuel oil system in order to reduce the tempera-

ture of the MGO, therefore to increase viscosity. Our

MGO cooling unit, chills even to 10 degrees Celsius,

so that the viscosity and lubricity meet the require-

ments of the engine manufacturers.
