Player of the Week!

Leah Adelsberger

Hometown: Emmitsburg, MD

Team: Triple Entendres?

Hobbies: Pitchin’ and complaining, getting

my kicks, word play, and getting rowdy! After

relocating to California for my job as a

speech-language therapist at the School for

the Deaf in Riverside, I realized a social life

was needed as much as a professional career.

I played my first season last spring and after

feeling the WAKA LOVE, how could I resist

playing a second? Friends, colleagues,

comrades, a child’s game, and adult

beverages—now those are signs of a good

time! If WAKA has taught me one thing, it’s

to grab life by the balls!

Week 3 G.M.O.T.

Rule of the Week:

10.01 Runners must stay within the baseline. Any runner outside the baseline is out (see Rule 14.02k): a. Runners may choose their path from one base to the next, and may follow a natural running arc; b. Runners are free to change course to avoid interference with a fielder making a play; c. When attempting to avoid a ball tag, runners may move no more than 4 feet out

of their established path.

Tip of the Week:

It is much easier to run up to a ball then chase after it. Play further back

then you think you need to.
