Internal Tracker and HAO
> CA 7 Cross-Platform Tracker (XTRK) currently runs as a
subtask under CA7ICOM or as a separate address space
> With r11.1, XTRK executes as a subtask in the CA7ONL
address space
> Presence of XCKPT DD statement in CA7ONL JCL
activates the internal XTRK
> XPJOB and the HAO option requires internal XTRK
> Commands passed to internal XTRK via /XTASK top-line
command

> This enhancement allows CA 7 online to use multiple
concurrent submission tasks to improve throughput
(PSP=YES)
> Allows user selection of 1 to 15 JES Internal Readers
(MAXSUBOUT=5)
> Supports reentrant user submission exits (SASSXX20 and
SASSXX21)
> New /DISPLAY,ST=SUB shows active statistics
> New SASSHR24 Report shows details and summary
information

Global Variables
> This enhancement provides highly-flexible, easy to use, variable substitution in JCL and in XPJOB submission text (GVARSUB= YES|NO|xxxx)
> Global Variables work with or without CA Driver
> Variables in JCL are identified by a prefix
default is &:
> 37 Reserved Variables for time, date, host, job-specific variables
> Unlimited User-defined Variables stored in database (VRM)
> /GVAR and LGVAR commands to define and display

Pattern Masking – Commands / Reports
> Masking is used when you want to display all records
whose names share common characters
> The mask can contain one or more asterisks and/or one
or more question marks, all in any position in the mask
* matches any number of characters, including 0
? matches only a single non-blank character
> Examples:
*ABC* matches any string with ABC in it
SYS?X matches SYS1X, SYS2X, SYS3X, etc…

Data Set Tracking – VSAM & USS files
> CA 7 WA will optionally track the event of VSAM cluster
closes when the cluster is opened for update
> The tracking of that event can then be used for data set
triggering and requirement posting in CA 7 WA
> USS File (USSF) tracking provides file watching and tracking capabilities for files created under IBM‟s Unix System Services (USS)
> When a file is created or modified on the USS file system, USSF can send a user-specified command to CA 7 WA (via U7SVC)
