Chutes & Chute Doors

Chutes Shaft

Our Trash and Linen Chutes are manufactured to comply with the latest N.F. P.A. 82 and nationalbuilding codes. Fully factory assembled with all vertical seams lapped and welded. The horizontalseams are slip joined. All chutes have a ush interior and are assembled without bolts, rivets, or

clips protruding into the chute opening. No other projections are inside the chute to snag the ow

of material. We provide steel angle frames at all oors. The adjustable intake door and frame are

securely fastened to the intake throat. At off-sets the chute will be reinforced and supported if required.

Our Warranty

We Guarantee our chutes against defective workmanship for a period of one year, providing allcomponents are properly used and maintained.

Trash & Linen ChutesIntake Doors* Ask about our ADA Pneumatic Doors. Intake doors are self-closing, with a positive latching system.

* The front is fabricated of polished stainless steel with aluminized steel backs.* Steel angle frame with 3-1/2” steel extensions.* Integral polished stainless steel trim, with top side embossed, designating the use of the chute. (English and Braille)* Pivot type hinge welded to the door frame.* Door equipped with chrome plated key locking “T” handle latching assembly, re rated locking (with two keys).* (ADA) Automatic push button door can be also provided if required

SizesStandard chute size is 24” per NFPA recommendations. Chutes are available in 36”,30”, and 20” diameters.

Material C-TEC chutes are constructed of 16 gauge standard aluminized steel, or can beconstructed with stainless steel or galvanized steel if required.

Fire Sprinkler SystemOur chutes have a 1/2” ushing spray head, a 165 degree automatic brass sprinkler above the top intake door. Complete with a tting for connection by re protectionor plumber. Sprinklers will be located at the top oor and on every other oor depending on local re codes.

Venting Vents are made the same diameter as the chute and extend4 ft. above roof of the building per NFPA. Vents include a topexplosion cap with a bird screen and roof ashing ange.

Discharge Doors1. Standard sliding discharge door for chutes is springloaded and held open with a 155° U.L. approved fusible link.

2. “B” construction type discharge door for linen chutes.3. Hopper-top hinged discharge door for linen chutes used

when a 90 degree offset is required.4. When a door is not required, the chute is connected

directly into a compactor by a transition.

Chute Cleaning A ushing head is provided for disinfecting and sanitizing. Disinfectant-sanitizer/access door unit can be added to the ush head at the top oor to periodically clean the chute with the proper solution. All Flushing unitsrequire 15” x 15” high side-hinged stainless steel access door bearing

a U.L. “B” label. The “B” label can be provided by C-TEC if required bycontractor. Complete with a tting for connection by plumber.

Optional Accessories* Sound Insulation: Factory spray coated with sound dampening

material and oor frame isolators.* Thru the Wall Door/Sleeve: to offer service away from the chute shaft.* Rubber or Steel Back Draft Bafes: To minimize the back drafting out

of the chute door.



THE SAFETY OF THE USER IS OF PRIMARYIMPORTANCE IN THE DESIGN OF ALL PTRHYDRAULIC BALERS. A HEAVY DUTY MAGNETIC FIELDPROXIMITY SWITCH at a high, partiallyconcealed location reduces the risk of misuse or open-gate operation. Theswitch senses that the counter-weightinside the gate support is raised whenthe gate is lowered, and allowsautomatic operation.

SIDE WHEEL LOCK releases the pressureslowly before the door is opened for thesafety of the operator.MANUAL SAFETY GATE must be closedbefore the baler can be operated. If thegate is raised during operation, theplaten will stop.PROTECTED PUSH BUTTONS reduce thepossibility of mis-operation.SAFETY SIGNS advise the operator onproper use and caution against unsafepractices.

THE PLATEN has been engineered toeliminate all stress on the connection pinbetween the cylinder and the platen,reducing the possibility of failure andinjury.HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION, certied

CONCEALED PROXIMITY safety switch prevents automaticoperation unless the gate is fully closed, and reduces

Balers

C-TEC offers several baler models to meet any recycling or wasteapplication. Each baler is manufactured for superior strength, safety,reliable performance, and durability.

MODELS 324, 360 & 420: The Model 324 (24”) & 360 (36”) are designedfor use in areas with very tight space requirements. Our newest model, the420 (42”), provides a heavier bale while tting within a limited space.

MODELS 1800 HD & 3600 HDlP: These low prole balers are ideal for applications with limited space or low clearance. The 3600 HDlP can tunder an 8’ ceiling.

MODEL 2300 HD: A standard/high density baler constructed with heavy-duty structural steel and jig-xtured components. The 2300 HD canproduce bales up to 1,100 Ibs.

MODEL 3400 HD: C-TEC’s most popular high density baler, producing1,000 to 1,300 lb. bales of corrugated material. It is ideal for supermarkets,

chain stores, department stores, drug stores, and other commercialapplications. The Model 3400 HD will produce dense, heavy bales whichwill reduce the cost of storage space, handling, and transportation whilemaximizing recycling revenue.

MODEL 5000 HD: This extremely rugged, high density baler is constructedof heavy-duty structural steel components combined with a large industrialstrength motor for superior performance in heavy-duty industrial or recycling applications.

MODEL 7200 HD: C-TEC’s largest & most powerful baler, providingbale weights of up to 1,800 Ibs. The 7200 HD is ideal for warehouses,distribution centers, and recycling operations.

The safety gate operates with a minimum of operator effort, due to the enclosed roller chainmounted on sprockets with oil-tight bearings.Our concealed safety switch preventsoperation in the automatic mode unless the gatis fully closed. A pressure gauge is mountedprominently on the baler, allowingthe operator to check periodically to ensureproper operating pressure.The pressure canbe adjusted, if necessary. A dual set of retainer

welders follow a special process to weld the critical inner core of the platen.

Every baler is thoroughly factory tested to ensure that thesafety devices, cylinder, door lock, gate, power pack, andframe meet C-TEC’s high-quality standard.

DESIGN FEATURES

The platen is the most critical area of design andconstruction in a high-density baler. C-TEC’s Balers featureheavy duty platens of structural steel design, engineeredto eliminate all stress on the connection pin between thecylinder and the platen during compression. This minimizesthe possibility of pin failure and an operator injury.

In our high-density models, stress is reduced by replaceablewear pads and the close-tolerance t of the platen inside

the baler chamber. This protectsthe structure, platen, andcylinder from the effects of stress and allows longer,low-maintenanceperformance.Energy savings are realizedby the unique combination of our hydraulic system, hightorque motor, and other design

factors which use half the power of other high-density balers. Thisincrease in efciency will result in signicant

C-TEC’s Odor Neutralizers are industrial ozone generators.

Ozone control systems produce ozone electronically from oxygen in the air. Ozone is an activated form of oxygen that oxidizes odor molecules and reduces them to odorless compounds. These systems are used in

numerous applications to control and destroy organic odors. All of C-TEC’s models have an adjustable ozoneoutput level to allow maximum output for short treatments, or lower levels for longer treatments or continuous

use. These models are designed for use in uninhabited locations, unless used with control methods to limit theozone level to OSHA to EPA limits. There are many uses for C-TEC’s Odor Control Neutralizers.

Waste Director 100 accurately determines when a compactor container is ready for pick-

up. The System automatically sends a pick-up request to a PC, utilizing WinEdge Software.

A Waste Director Feature

The “Planner” is an exciting feature which is included with waste director Fullness monitors.

This feature provides the capability to plan ahead for one day or up to a full year to cover situations which may require earlier or timelier pick-ups to avoid week-end or holiday pick-ups, overow or packing –out. With the Planner, haulers and

facilities will be prepared in advance to handle these special situations.

The “Planner”

These anticipated pick-ups can be accommodated in the programmed setting so

that the Fullness monitor will automatically call-out for special pick-ups, basedon an adjusted setting for 1 or up to 365 specic dates. The Planner provides

haulers with ample lead time to do an efcient job of taking care of a customer’s

special needs.

Compactors: C-TEC warrants its Compactors to be free from defects in parts, materials and workmanship• under normal use and service for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to the rst purchaser.

This warranty covers all Compactors shipped after January 1, 2006.

Vertical Baler: C-TEC warrants its Vertical Baler products to be free from defects in parts, materials and•

workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to the rst

purchaser. This warranty covers all Vertical Balers shipped after January 1,2006.

Odor Neutralizer: C-TEC warrants its Odor Neutralizer products to be free from defects in parts, materials•

and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to therst purchaser. This warranty covers all Odor Neutralizer products shipped afterJanuary 1, 2006.

Containers: C-TEC warrants its Containers to be free from defects in parts, materials and workmanship•under normal use and service for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to the rst purchaser.

This warranty covers all Containers shipped after January 1, 2006.

Lifts: C-TEC warrants its Rotary Lifts to be free from defects in parts, materials and workmanship under •

normal use and service for a period of two (2) years from the date of delivery to the rst purchaser. This

warranty covers all Rotary Lifts shipped after January 1, 2006.

Totes / 2-Wheel Carts: C-TEC offers no warranty on Totes whether expressed or implied, whether for •

merchantability or tness for a particular purpose, or otherwise, other than those required by law.

Waste Watcher: C-TEC warrants its Waste Watcher products to be free from defects in parts, materials and•

workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to the rst

purchaser. This warranty covers all Waste Watcher products shipped afterJanuary 1, 2006.

C-TEC warrants its Service & Repairs to be free from defects in parts, materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of completion. This warranty covers all Service & Repairs completed after January 1, 2006.This warranty is expressly limited to the repair or replacement of any component or part of any Service & Repairs completed by C-TECwhich is proven to C-TEC’s satisfaction to have been defective in material or workmanship. This warranty shall not apply to a productupon which repairs or alterations have been made unless authorized in writing by C-TEC. Any improper use, negligence , accident,substitution of parts not approved by C-TEC, and/or modications other than those done by C-TEC or as authorized in writing by C-TEC

shall void this warranty. C-TEC assumes no liability for any incidental, consequential, direct or indirect damages, losses or delaysincluding, but not limited to, loss of prots, product or time. C-TEC, whose policy is one of continuous improvement, reserves the right to
