MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL . . .

Dear Valued Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to our Term 3 newsletter! The highlight for Term 3 would certainly be

our SSDB project in saving the sea creatures. The teachers and children had an

amazing experience exploring and learning ways to conserve the wildlife.

Thank you parents for your wonderful support and contributions thus far.

A big thank you to all families for the gifts of appreciation given to the teachers

during our ‘Teachers’ Day Celebration’. The teachers had memorable

celebration with the children.

How time flies! We have so much to look forward to as the final term is just round

the corner. We will make the most out of our time together before the end of the

school year.

We ended the first week of Term 3 with Hari Raya celebration on 5 July 2019.

The children played games and created crafts with their friends. We had a

spread of delicious potluck food contributed by the parents. We even played

sparklers with the K1s & K2s. A merry celebration indeed!

RACIAL HARMONY DAY We set-up 4 different racial booths on Racial Harmony Day.

The children had fun discovering up close the display at each booth which

includes clothing, musical instruments, games and delicacies.

ZUMBA SESSION WITH K1 PARENTS

For Term 3 Parental Involvement, we organised a Zumba session with the K1 parents. The K1

teachers also shared some information on healthy lifestyle and parent-child bonding during the

session. We had a good time sweating out with the parents! Thank you for taking the time to join us.

NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION

We awarded a best dressed Singapore Girl and Boy for this year’s National Day

Celebration. Of course, we had Singapore trivia quiz, workout and sing-alongs too!

Children enjoyed snacking on the Merlion biscuits which, symbolises Singapore City.

CARE FOR WILDLIFE

We had ‘Care for Wildlife Day’ as part of our SSDB project finale. We invited a

representative from WWF (Singapore) to give a talk on ocean conservation.

The sharing was indeed an eye-opener. It gave us an insightful learning

experience on what is happening to our beloved earth and its inhabitants.

We also presented our donations contributed by parents and children to

Mr Heiqal, the representative from WWF.

N1 and N2 children had a trip to

S.E.A. Aquarium as a follow-up to our

‘Care for Wildlife Day’. The children

enjoyed the mesmerising view of the

underwater world and they pledged

their promise to save the wildlife.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

Pyjama party was the theme for this

year’s Teachers’ Day Celebration.

A day of fun sharing, games, and

of course relaxing and sleeping! We

had a great time together!

grow. These are the interesting

facts that Emerald A children had

discovered during the fun-filled

Nature Magnified activities.

Emerald B children learned to

regrow plants from scraps. They

used carrots, onions and

For Nature Magnified, we discovered about the

usage of flowers in different cultures. The

children created their very own “bunga rampai”,

which is part of the Malay culture. Well done!

Children had a chance to make a leaf

collage portrait. The children created a

portrait of their friends using loose parts

such as twigs, dry leaves and rocks.
