Tri 4 Schools Kids Triathlon - May 3

The Village Center is excited to be partnering with the

Waunakee AquaticCenter and Tri 4 Schools to offer the third

annual youth triathlon this spring. It will be held on Saturday

May 3, 2014 at the Waunakee Aquatic Center and

High School. Every dollar raised for this event will be

distributed to the schools of our participants to fund athletic

and nutrition programs, equipment, and other resources to

teach kids about making healthy choices.

Registration is currently open at: www.tri4schools.com

Over 100 volunteers are needed to make this event a success.

If you are interested in helping, please call the Village Center

at 850-5992.

Public Archeological Dig - Town of Westport ELLA WHEELER WILCOX HISTORIC DIG DAYThe Town of Westport, in conjunction withDane County, will be hosting a day of publicarcheology on May 10, 2014, from 10am-2pm. Archeologist Phil Salkin and staff will beleading the public in an archeological dig atthe site of the 1853 Ella Wheeler Wilcox homeon Easy Street between Highway I and River

Road. Ella Wheeler Wilcox was a poetess in the late 1800sand early 1900s who wrote the lines "Laugh, and the worldlaughs with you; weep, and you weep alone." The day willinclude a lecture on archeology, looking for artifacts such aspottery shards, uncovering the Wilcox home foundation, andmapping the archeological site.
