Retail is the sale of goods and services from individuals or businesses to the end-user. There are various models in,some of which are discussed below.

Department Store: Large area – Broad assortment – Average price – Considerable customer service .ex-reliance fresh ,bigbazaar,9to9 etc.

Kirana Store :Small area – Limited assortment – Operated by Individual & family – Personal rapport.

Malls:Large area – Variety of retail stroes offering different type of products,services,food & entertainment – under same roof.

Ex-P&M ,Ambience ,Southcity etc.

Boutiques or Concept stores:Very small size – Limitted to one brand – Charge premium prices.Ex-Manyavar,Biba etc

Vending machines:Small space required – limitted to few products – automated unmanned.Ex-Weighing Machine,cocacola vending machine etc.

E-COMMERCE E-Commerce, is a type of industry where the buying and selling of products or services is conducted over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks.Ex:ebay,flipkart,Jabong etc.

MULTILEVEL MARKETINGMulti-level marketing (MLM) is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit.Examples:-Amway,Herbalife, Avon etc.
