Established in 1973, Rombourne is a privately owned property company with extensive commercial property interests in the South West and South Wales.
Rombourne purchased Kingston House at the end of 2013 and immediately started comprehensive renovation and refurbishment of the 17,000sq ft building. The total budget was £450k and the deadline for completion was the end of August 2014. Rombourne completed all works ahead of schedule at the end of July 2014, and on-budget.
Redevelopment was most intense on the ground and first floors, around 11,000sq ft. Both were transformed from soulless, grey, open-plan areas into 31 modern, contemporary individual offices; a kitchen and breakout area and a spacious, two-floor-high, visually stunning reception area.
As a result, Kingston House is now a prestigious, 5-star business centre; offering up to 190 workstations in a range of 3 to 25 person offices. The building is Grade A, rated as ‘BREEAM Very Good’ and fully air conditioned. All interior design is bespoke and the reception and public areas boast one-off, custom-made wall art.

Due to Rombourne’s reputation and pre-opening publicity, the company had secured tenants before refurbishments were even finished; leading to the official opening being held once the major ground floor works had been completed in May 2014.
The ceremony was conducted by HM’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Mrs Rosemary Troughton, and attended by Swindon VIPs and MPs.
