WHAT’S GOING ON AT ST. JOSEPH’S
The Feast of the Assumption is Monday, August 15th but is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year, due to its proximity to Sunday. For those who wish to honor the Holy Day, we will have Masses at 7:30 AM in Latin, 12:00 Noon in English and at 6:00 PM in English.
The Catholic Home Missions Appeal will take place the week of August 20th & 21st. One way that this appeal works to support home mission dioceses in the United States is by supporting seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses, because educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per year. Your support is needed for these young men so that they might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week’s appeal
Catholic School Tuition Assistance: St. Joseph's Parish is offering some tuition assistance for parishioners who have children enrolled in an area Catholic School. Please contact the parish office for details. All applications must be made by August 26, 2016!
RCIA Anyone looking to join the Catholic Church is welcome to call the parish office and you'll be the first to know about opportunities for this year's RCIA which will begin Thursday, August 25 at 6:30 PM in the Parish Education Center Adult Education Room. This class is also open to all Catholics who wish to learn more about their faith.
There will be no Pray, Eat & Play (P.E.P.) Rally in August. We will pick back up September 15th.
Child Care is available for those who wish to use it during the 9:00 am Sunday Mass. Participating children need to be taken to the Education Center and will need to fill out an information form.
Baptism Preparation Class: Friday, September 9th in the Parish Education Center. Call or e-mail the Parish Office to register and get the appropriate forms. All parents and godparents are required at attend a class in order to proceed with the Baptism of their children. You do not have to wait until your sweet little bundle arrives to take the class but if you do wait, please make sure you can get someone to babysit!
