Define the term ‘Relationship’ Relationships are formed as soon as we

are born. As we moved outside of our home, friends become important. As we get older we form new relationship with teachers, employers. A relationship involves a connection between people. Some people have a large circle of friends, others only prefer a few close friends.

What are some benefits of a relationship?

Group Activity 1 – 4 equal groups

1. Two groups will have the topic: healthy relationships…the other two groups will have the topic unhealthy relationships.

2. Each group brainstorm as many characteristics of their topic as possible.

3. Each group will be asked to present their findings. (Write on large paper)

Time frame: Take about 15 minutes to create this list

1. How do you feel in a healthy relationship?

2. How do you feel in an unhealthy relationship?

3. Why do some people stay in unhealthy relationships?

Rules

Listen to each presentation. You may take notes, you will be asked to answer some questions at the end of the presentations.

Each group will first read the scenario, then introduce the actors and roles.

Time to Role Play!!! This exercise is intended so you can practise skills

for building and maintaining a positive relationship. Groups of 3/4 students per group. Hand out Scenario Card…

Task: Plan a presentation as outlined on the card. The role play should provide examples of what you have learned…use notes. 1 to 3 minutes long.

No inappropriate language…I think it goes without saying.

You have 10 minutes to practise your skit!
