•  “Daedalus and Icarus” is a myth.

•  Some myths help to explain how the world works.

•  Some myths discuss the adventures and mistakes of heroes and other interesting characters. Sculpture of Icarus




•  What are some myths that you have read?

•  What is it about the stories that make them myths?




•  Daedalus was famous as an architect and inventor.

•  Daedalus built King Minos a maze so complex that no one could escape it.







To keep Daedalus from revealing the solution to the maze, Minos imprisoned Daedalus and his son Icarus in a tower.
