Buddy Rhoes is announces BR Ekocrete™,
the most environmentally “green” concrete
product on the market. BR Ekocrete™ was
developed using 95% recycled products.
Instead of mining new aggregate, BR Eko-
crete™ uses recyled concrete as aggregate,
reducing landfill waste.
To increase strength, durability and water
impermeability, Ekocrete™ uses very fine

particles that are created as by-products of
various processes. Recycled fibers are used
to reduce cracking. As litlle as 5% of the
product requires new Portland cement, yet
compressive strength up to 100% greater
that traditional concrete can be achieve
using custom ultra green concrete™ mix

BR Ekocrete™ is ideal for applications requir-
ing traditional concrete such as floors, pavers,
post supports, poured walls, and driveways.
Buddy Rhodes is a pioneer in concrete ad-
vancement. This is next logical step in his cut-
ting edge impact on the concrete industry.

A fresh translation of an ancient, natural mate-
rial, Buddy Rhodes Concrete Mix can be used
to create one of a kind countertops, outdoor
kitchens, fireplaces, furniture, planters, and
tiles of any shape, adding character to homes
and offices ranging from old-fashioned to
contemporary, traditional to modern. Artisan
concrete is completely different from the com-
mon concrete found in sidewalks, driveways
and foundations.
Buddy Rhodes Concrete
Mix is a clay-like material
that can be tinted, molded
and even formed
vertically to create fresh,
new possibilities. In the
hands of a master craftsman, it yields honed
surfaces that are wonderful to touch and
blend beautifully with other natural materials.
Buddy Rhodes Artisan Concrete countertops
have a wonderful presence and solidity, and
with a little basic care, grow in beauty through
the years.

• For Buddys’ signature veined look, use right
out of the bag.
• For cast in place, and trowelled finishes,
add 15 lbs of 3/8” pea gravel.
• For wet-casting, add 3/8” pea gravel, or
other aggregate, and a water reducer.
• One 70lb bag yields approximately 1/2
cubic foot or 4.5 square feet of counter at
1.5” thick. 9000 psi with 3/8” pea gravel.
Our formula along with tight manufactur-
ing process controls result in bag to bag
consistency. Labor is the most expensive part
of the total cost; with Buddy Rhodes you get
shorter fabrication times and product quality
creates predictable results.

r e d u c e r – A polycarboxylate-based
wetting agent that makes concrete work-
able with less water. Less water and
improved water dispersion make for great-
er final strength.

12 mm Chopped Glass Strands. The fibers
become integral within the concrete and
add flexural and tensile strength. Exactly
what concrete needs to resist cracking and

VF-774 is a GFRC specific, all acrylic,
co-polymer dispersion (51% solids).
It works as a curing agent for cement
and adds polymer strength and dura-
bility to the final concrete matrix.

s c r i m – A flat woven mat that makes
for an additional method to incorporate
glass fiber reinforcement into a con-
crete project. It is easy to cut and easy
to shape into three dimensional molds.
Can be sandwiched in layers. No sharp
edges. No rust.

The main benefit is increased strength and
crack resistance for larger and lighter pieces
at lesser thicknesses. The glass fibers have
an Alkali Resistant coating (AR) making them
tougher and more complementary within the
concrete/polymer matrix. GFRC is especially
suited for use with Buddy Rhodes Concrete
because the mix is clay-like and the fibers
can be segregated away from the surface
where they otherwise would interfere with
the final aesthetic.
The Buddy Rhodes GFRC system utilizes 4
unique products that can be used separately
or together and can be combined with our
existing mix and colors. Buddy Rhodes
GFRC products can also be used with many
other concrete mixes to good effect.

The goal of the Buddy Rhodes Training
Programs is to educate custom concrete
artisans in the exceptional hand crafted
quality represented by Buddy Rhodes for
over twenty years.
Crafting concrete countertops and
decorative concrete furnishings is an artful
skill which can be acquired by motivated
learners. However, it does require
technical expertise just as fine woodworking
and ceramics do.
Beginners will achieve important basic skills
with introductory training, aided by the
premium and consistent workability of Buddy
Rhodes products. More advanced artisans
will quickly learn to create very high-end
and distinctive finished products. We have
found that a direct, hands-on workshop
gives experienced crafts people the skills
they need to produce excellent results. We
strongly encourage all of our customers to
take advantage of training opportunities
at local distributors and regional Buddy
Rhodes training centers.

Every two-day training is comprehensive and
informative about each phase of concrete fabrica-
tion, with individual attention and opportunity for
hands-on learning about concrete countertops and
other decorative concrete projects. Buddy’s team
of master concrete craftsmen conduct training with
Buddy in the San Francisco studio. Students gain

way! This new DVD provides step-by-step details on techniques
that you’ll want to see after you’re comfortable making basic con-
crete countertops. This time Buddy himself leads the way with Matt
Mondini and Joshua Cruz whom you met in the first video. Matt

Learn to build concrete countertops the Buddy Rhodes way! This
DVD provides step-by-step details on how to build concrete coun-
tertops using Buddy’s materials and methods. Led by our national
trainer Rich Rhoades and specialist Matt Mondini, we go through
the whole process: first templating on site, then each step of the
fabrication process in our shop, and finally back to the customer’s
home for installation. Along the way, Buddy, Rich and Matt will share the many techniques
we’ve developed over the years to produce distinctively successful results. Plus, there’s
extra information about Buddy’s signature pressed technique, casting in place, custom
molds and more.
