SUMMER ‘21

June 4 marked the Grand Opening to our new Bryden Main Branch!

After years of planning and 10 months of building, we are excited to

share the new facility with our members and the community. On June

4, we welcomed more than 300 members to the branch and served up

delicious fare throughout the day from Happy Day Catering, Z-Dawgs,

Deeney’s Ice Cream, and Hot Shots. Members spun the prize wheel, and

won great swag. A good time was had by all!

If you weren’t able to stop by during our Grand Opening event, we

welcome you to swing over the Bryden Branch anytime through

July 31 to see the building and spin our prize wheel. Just because

you couldn’t join us on June 5th doesn’t mean you can’t have a little

fun and win a prize too!

NEW FACILITIES

In this convenient neighborhood location on Bryden Avenue, we were

able to design a building that has plenty of room for both branch opera-

tions and administrative offices, while also accommodating us for many

years to come as we continue to grow and expand.

Every detail was carefully considered, always keeping our members’

needs in mind. Some of the new branch’s features include:

• A drive-thru ATM

• A comfortable waiting lounge

• An iPad station for accessing and learning about online services

• A large community room for local non-profit groups and our busi-

ness friends to use for meetings

• Screens throughout with information and entertainment

LCCU is the proud recipient of a $1.8 million Rapid Response grant

from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. On June 15, the U.S.

Treasury awarded $1.25 billion in COVID-19 relief funds to 863

Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to provide

necessary capital for CDFIs to respond to economic challenges

created by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in underserved

communities.

The CDFI Rapid Response Program grant funds will be used to

support eligible activities such as financial products, financial

services, development services, and certain operational activities,

and to enable LCCU to build capital reserves and loan-loss reserves.

As a designated Community Development Financial Institution

(CDFI), LCCU is dedicated to providing financial services that meet

the needs of economically disadvantaged individuals within

underserved communities. Being a CDFI has given LCCU a

tremendous opportunity to reach a community of hard-working

individuals who are frequently placed in stressful financial situations.

“These awards provide CDFIs with an unprecedented level of

flexible capital to help distressed and underserved communities

across the country take meaningful steps towards recovering from

the debilitating economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said

CDFI Fund Director Jodie Harris. “CDFI RRP awards will enable CDFIs

to help businesses keep their doors open, help families make ends

meet, and help maintain important community facilities during this

difficult time.”

LCCU RECEIVES $1.8 MILLION GRANT FROM THE U.S. TREASURYCOVID-19 relief funds to community financial institutions

If you’re like many Americans, when

the pandemic hit, you were staying

On Saturday, June 19, the LCCU Miracle Golf

Tournament welcomed 110 golfers to Bryden

Canyon Golf Course to raise money for the

Children’s Miracle Network. With blue skies and

green fairways as the backdrop, the tournament

raised an impressive $20,000 for Sacred Heart

Children’s Hospital.

In addition to a fun round of golf, participants

had the chance to win great prizes including

Yeti mugs, free rounds of golf, a Life Flight

membership, and more. Plus, three lucky raffle

winners went home with two electric bikes

and a booze board!

A highlight of the day included a special video

from Journey, one of Sacred Heart Children’s

Hospital’s patients, thanking everyone for

participating and raising money for the hospital.
