About InfoFair InfoFair is an annual event at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center with the goal of providing up-to-date health sciences information. Past InfoFairs have focused on computer services, applications and resources as well as the future of computing in the health sciences. The Clifford C. Snyder, M.D. and Mary Snyder Lectureship Dr. Clifford C. Snyder, Professor of Surgery, founded the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1967 and served as chair of that division until 1985 when he was appointed Professor Emeritus of Surgery and Associate Dean of the School of Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Snyder has been an ardent supporter of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library. Dr. Snyder's endowment of The Clifford C. Snyder, M.D. and Mary Snyder Lectureship provides funding for the featured presentation at InfoFair. Sadly, Dr. Snyder passed away June 15, 2007. Interprofessional Education and Collaboration: Lessons Learned and Future Directions

For over twenty years the Center of Interprofessional Education, Research and Practice at the University of Washington has strived to achieve the following goals:

1. Promote curriculum and clinical innovations in interprofessional education and practice across the health sciences schools

2. Provide the infrastructure for catalyzing interprofessional health professions training initiatives and faculty development.

3. Conduct evaluative research regarding the impact of health professions interprofessional innovations on students, faculty, providers and the health of the public.

This session highlights the University of Washington's experience in expanding its IPE initiatives. The discussion will focus on the processes involved in the development of:

• interprofessional competencies • learning opportunities to demonstrate achievement of these competencies using case studies and high

fidelity simulation • assessment tools • student-led learning opportunities • faculty development • translational research opportunities • the impact of IPE activities on the research/practice interface
