Polistudio A.E.S. is an engineering company that provides integrated solutions for architecture and engineering. It can tackle complex projects, ensuring compliance with the budget provided for in the schedule. It was established as an engineering company in 2004, although its origins

date back to the early seventies.

With a staff of nearly 70 professionals and extensive project management experience Polistudio offers integrated project design and is able to support and follow our costumer through the entire project realization process.

In recent years the company has refined knowledge of issues relating to sustainable design to improve the quality of life and for the rehabili-tation of the environment, working on aspects of sustainability such as choice of materials and on energy efficiency.

Being USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) associates, we offer our advisory in the design of buildings with low energy consumption, accom-panying our costumers through the process of obtaining the LEED certification, coordinating the activities required by LEED standards.

Polistudio A.E.S. è una Società di Ingegneria che offre soluzioni integrate di architettura e ingegneria. È in grado di affrontare anche progetti complessi, assicurando rispetto dei budget previsti nei tempi programmati.

Si è costituita come Società di Ingegneria nel 2004, anche se la sua origine risale ai primi anni Settanta.

Uno staff di circa 70 professionisti e un project management specializzato sono in grado di offrire una progettazione integrata e di seguire il cliente in tutto il processo di realizzazione del progetto.

In questi anni la società ha affinato le conoscenze delle problematiche relative alla progettazione ecosostenibile per migliorare la qualità della vita e per la riqualificazione dell’ambiente, lavorando sugli aspetti della sostenibilità come scelta dei materiali e sull’efficientamento energe-

tico.

In quanto soci di USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council), offriamo la nostra consulenza nella progettazione di edifici a ridotto consumo energe-tico, accompagnando i nostri clienti nell’ottenimento della certificazione LEED, seguendo e coordinando le attività richieste dai parametri di

certificazione.

Procedure BIMBIM (Building Information Modeling) è un innovativo modello informativo di digitalizzazione 3D che permette una progettazione integrata dell’intero edifi-cio, una rintracciabilità di tutti gli elementi che lo compongono ed un monito-raggio del loro ciclo di vita.

Il processo BIM inizia con la costruzione virtuale, affrontando fin dalla model-lazione ogni implicazione di carattere tecnico e dimensionale, facendo conver-gere le diverse discipline verso una soluzione congrua.

Condivisione delle informazioniIl BIM, per sua definizione, è un processo che si fonda sulla condivisione delle informazioni, perché tutti gli attori sono chiamati a lavorare sullo stesso oggetto virtuale e ad apportare le informazioni necessarie alla comple-ta definizione dell’oggetto, sia geometrica che informativa. Non esiste BIM se non c’è condivisione.

In sostanza, il BIM è un processo di innovazione dell’azienda. Permette di innovare o rinnovare un’azienda come la nostra dall’interno dei suoi processi produttivi. Grazie a questo processo, ogni singolo professionista all’interno dell’azienda ed ogni azienda all’interno del mercato deve concepirsi in una rete di condivisione del know-how, delle informazioni.

BIM proceduresBIM (Building Information Modeling) is an innovative 3D digitization model that allows to visualize an integrated design of the entire building and to easily identify all its components and their life cycle.

The BIM process begins with the virtual construction of the building and informs on every possible technical and dimensional issues that can arise at this 3D model level, helping to find the most appropriate solution.

Information sharingBIM is, by definition, an innovative process that is based on information sharing. In fact, all actors are called to work on the same virtual object and to provide the information necessary for the complete definition of the object, both at a geometric and informative level.

BIM essentially represents a step ahead in the company innova-tion. It allows to innovate or renew a company like ours from within its production processes. Thanks to this process, every single professional within the company and every company within the market cannot see themselves as an island but must share know-how and informations.

A strategic changeThe processes behind the BIM require technical and IT skills and therefo-re the use of new key figures with multidisciplinary skills. This required a strategic change within our company. The traditional figures were those of the project manager and of the designer. With the introduction of BIM, this net division no longer exists, because, as a matter of fact, the project manager is also a designer. This change required an appropriate trai-ning of our designers, in order to prepare them to better face this new challenge and acquire new skills. Furthermore, it was necessary to study new production processes, linked to BIM, as well as to identify new figures that managed these processes. These include new roles such as those of the BIM manager, the BIM coordinator and the various BIM specialists. Our team has successfully passed the exams for BIM Spe-cialist (ARC, CIV, MEP), BIM Coordinator and BIM Manager, as per UNI re-gulations11337-7. Specifically, nine collaborators of our company and the engineer Stefano La Motta (partner and BIM Manager) have been succes-sfully certified.

The strategic change has been profound. The introduction of BIM is a very interesting challenge, that can bring professional and human growth.

Un cambiamento strategicoI processi alla base del BIM richiedono competenze tecniche ed informatiche e quindi l’utilizzo di nuove figure chiave con competenze multidisciplinari. Que-sto ha richiesto un cambiamento strategico all’interno della nostra società. Le figure tradizionali della progettazione erano quelle del progettista e del dise-gnatore. Con l’introduzione del BIM non esiste più questo tipo di suddivisione netta, perché, di fatto, chi progetta modella. Questo passaggio ci ha richiesto una formazione appropriata dei nostri progettisti, in modo da renderli in grado di affrontare al meglio questa nuova sfida del BIM, acquisendo nuove competenze. È stato necessario studiare nuovi processi di produzione, le-gati al BIM, nonché individuare nuove figure che gestissero questi proces-si. Tra queste sono cresciute figure quali il BIM manager, il BIM coordinator e i vari BIM specialist di disciplina.

ll nostro team ha superato in maniera eccellente gli esami finali per il titolo di BIM Specialist di disciplina (ARC, CIV, MEP), BIM Coordinator e BIM Manager, secondo il nuovo protocollo ai sensi della UNI 11337-7. Nello specifico, 9 col-laboratori della nostra società e l’ing. Stefano La Motta (socio e BIM Manager) hanno accettato la sfida della certificazione.

Il cambiamento è stato profondo. L’introduzione del BIM è una sfida molto interessante, un ulteriore incentivo a crescere professionalmente ed umana-mente.

Tecnologia BIMPolistudio A.E.S. per la modellazione in BIM si avvale di software dedicati che agevolano l’interoperabilità tra le varie discipline: architetto-nica, strutturale, impiantistica e infrastrutturale.

In particolare, come software di modellazione viene utilizzato Autodesk Revit sempre aggiornato alle ultime versioni grazie alla sottoscrizione ai contratti di Maintenance delle suite di proprietà di Polistudio e ai noleggi annuali.

Le suite offrono una serie di software aggiuntivi per la modellazione e il render come 3d Studio Max, per il coordinamento e controllo dei modelli come Navisworks, per la modellazione di infrastrutture come Infraworks, etc. Tramite l’esportazione in formati aperti, il processo di modellazione si arricchisce degli aspetti informativi relativi ai costi, ai tempi e alla pos-sibilità dello scambio di informazioni con software di calcolo impiantistici e strutturali.

BIM technologyFor modeling in BIM Polistudio A.E.S. makes use of dedicated software that facilitates interoperability between the various disciplines: architectural, structural, plant engineering and infrastructural.

We use Autodesk Revit, as a modeling software. It is always updated to the latest versions thanks to the subscription to the maintenance con-tracts of the suites, owned by Polistudio, and to the annual rentals.

The suites offer a series of additional software for modeling and rende-ring as 3D Studio Max, for the coordination and control of models such as Navisworks and for infrastructure modeling such as Infraworks, etc.

Through the export in open formats, the modeling process is enriched by the informative aspects related to costs, times and the possibility of infor-mation exchange with plant and structural calculation software.
