The world’s largest tyre manufacturer, Bridgestone,
worked with the manufacturer of the patented TreadReader
Tyre Measurement technology to survey 2,400 cars
October 2016, British Masters Golf Tournament
A team of Sigmavision technicians scanned tyres using the
TreadReader Hand Held scanner, as part of a collaborative venture between Sigmavision, Bridgestoneand its network of tyre service providers, First Stop.
805 tyres ‘badly worn’ or showing uneven wear due to misalignment or tyre inflation problems
380 vehicles (15.8%) with at least one tyre having a tread depth below 3mm.
65 of those vehicles (2.7%) with one tyre below the legal limit of 1.6mm.
Survey Findings
2,400 vehicles inspected, 805 tyres scanned, October 2016, British Masters Golf Tournament
389 of the 805 tyres (48.3%), showed uneven tyre due to wheel misalignment
189 of 805 tyres scanned (23.5%) showed signs of tyre under-inflation
57 tyres (7.1%) with accelerated centre wear, symptomatic of tyre over-inflation.
