    Knights Errant

The knights errant will have very simple designs on their shields. They get to pick their own two colours, A tincture and a metal. They will have simple designs, these will be:Per Fess

    Per Pale

    Per Bend

    Per Bend Sinister

    Per Chevron

    Per Cross

Or on a solid field colour with one of the following on

    Fess

    Pale

    Bend

    Chevron

Unit champions will always be have a black and white design, for reasons explained later in the inheritance section.

    Knights of the Realm

They will retain their tincture and metal from their Erranthood, but MAY take an additional tincture. They will also be allowed to take a diminutive of their orginal division as a Knight Errant. They will also of course be able to take a charge which is decided by what they had to do to complete their errand. Their helmet cress will reflect their charge.

    Questing Knights

    2/3

Questing knights keep their colours from their days as a Knight of the realm. However their charge is replace by a single fleur de lis to symbolise their dedication to the quest. This also means they have to give up their old charge until the completion of their quest which symbolises the sacrifice they have to make. It is Also tradition that questing knights should take up specially forged runicaxes as described later.

    Grail knights

Will have the same colours that they had as a questing knight and knight of therealm but now are allowed to include the grail as an image on their shield in anyway they see fit, and if they wish they may include anothe metal in their Heraldry.

    The peasants

Peasant Bowmen There are two types of Bowmen in brionne though neither is better than the other at killing the enemy in hails of arrows, the only difference istheir job in the communities, some are simply a peasant levy who are roused at times of war they wear their own clothes, though because both Theodoric and Theodred prefer more uniform looks to their armies they provide black and white dye with which their peasants might use to make their clothes the colour of their lords livery. The second type are those stationed at their lord's and dukes castles these all wear nearly identical black and white uniforms provide for each baron

s garrison by Theodoric himself, but as these are in much fewer numbers than the former it is affordable.

    Men at Arms

The champion of a unit of Men at arms is allowed to carry the Lords shield as it is. However this is a special privilege, the rest have to carry the Lord's colours on their shield Per Pale. They also wear clothes dyed in Theodorics coloursof Black and white.

    Knightly Inheritance of Colours.

Though tradional heraldry of the real world would call for the mother and Father's heraldry to be mixed this rarely happens (exception see Duke Grimoald). However as each knight's charge is decided from their errant Inheritance would be a little off. So for knights of lower rank their colours are entirely of their choice within the bounds described earlier. However if they are related to one of the seven most important houses in the dukedom (ie the ones listed in the brettonian book) then they must take that house's colours. The eldest son, ie the direct heir will also take his fathers charge as in the case of Theodoric and Theodred. Each unit champion for all of my units will be in black and white as they arerelated to Theodoric.

    Theodoric, Duke of Brionne

Theodoric is away on the quest at the present time but will return in times of need to help defend his Dukedom, before his quest his Heraldry was a Sable axe on an Argent Field, but a fleur de lys has replaced the Axe for the time being.

Theodred, Steward of BrionneTheodred has taken charge of Brionne in his father's absence, he has the same sable axe and argent field as his father due to the inheritance described earlier.

Ingund, Banner Bearer of BrionneThe son of Theodoric's now deceased younger Brother bears their family colours b

    ut with a different Charge.

Baron LeuthereWhen he was young he became one of the youngest ever grail knights, barely out of his days of Erranthood. Since drinking from the grail he became a hermit, nearly a century since he has barely left his decaying grail chapel in the heart ofBrionne. He never rides since his horse was killed in his quest, he never couldsummon the enthusiasm to obtain another and learn to ride again. He is hooded and cloaked and wears rusted armour and can only be roused to fight in times of dire need.

Baron MassoneA once proud knight who upon returning from a day's hunting was greeted by a sight most strange. The peasants of his manor were not toiling in the field as is their habit. Instead they were ideally wandering to and fro with a strange gait.Upon closer inspection it appeared that they had been turned into mindless zombies by an unseen necromancer. For two days and three nights he and his remainingpeasants who had not been taken by this foul power fought. Finally they won after much effort. They left their costal home and now they travel around brettonia killing that which is already dead in the name of the lady.(for full story see the war of the Lost in the guildhall of wayfarers)

    Baron Grimoald

His father was Huebald of Carcassonne and his mother the only child of a baron of Brionne. As he was the second son of the family he would not become duke of Carcassonne, so instead unusually he inherited the title of Baron from his mothers side from his grandfather. He decided to blend the two heraldry's together to create his own, replacing the traditional sword of Carcassonne with the axe of Brionne of the same colouring in his heraldry.

    Situation in Bretonnia

Read the war of the Lost! But basically there are 5 necrarches trying to raise W'soran in Mousillon and Brionne is readying itself for war.
