rules question of the Month:Rule 14-1b now prohibits anchoring of the club,

either “directly” or by use of an “anchor point,”while making a stroke. If a player makes a strokewhile the club is in contact with his/her forearm,is that player in violation of the rule?

answer on next page

Now is the time to work on your game, asthe season kicks off. We offer privateinstruction at a fee of $50 per lesson.

Book a series of 3 private lessons for $125 or aseries of 5 private lessons for $200. Group lessons, clinics and playing lessons also offered.

laG puttinG drillOne of the hardest things for amateurs to do is

find the correct pace when lag putting. These areputts from far distances in which you want to leaveyourself a makeable second putt. To do this drillfind a straight putt, about 25-30 feet. Set up teesaround the back of the hole, creating a radius ofabout 3 feet around the back of the cup. Whenhitting putts you want to make sure the ballfinishes inside of that box. When you are able to dothis it will mean you are able to leave yourself amakeable putt. This is also a great way to showyour progress of ability to judge the pace of a putt.If you have any questions about this, or any otherdrills ask the pro shop staff.

Contact the Golf Shop at 843-767-8988 for moreinformation.
