Board of Director Announcement April 2020 Board of Director Meeting Announcement April 2020 At the May Board of Directors meeting there will be a motion to enter into contract with Comcast Corporation to provide cable television and internet services to individual owners within the park. Because of the on-going COVID-19 concerns, the May meeting will be held remotely and available to interested owners via web conferencing. In anticipation of increased interest in this motion, it is requested that questions, comments and concerns from the owners are prepared and forwarded to the Park Manager prior to the meeting. : Frequently Asked Questions 1. Will this increase my monthly dues? No. Each owner will independently contract for services with Comcast 2. Can I keep my satellite dish? Yes. The agreement with Comcast provides for their exclusive use of their infrastructure but does not prohibit the use of any other "over the air" service company (Dish, DirectTV). 3. Is this a bulk (park wide) service? No. The agreement is with individual owners and no bulk services will be provided by Comcast. 4. Are owners paying for the infrastructure? No. Comcast is responsible for all costs associated with infrastructure including any damage, repair or alteration. 5. How much will this cost the owner? Costs will vary depending on services that are chosen. The Comcast/ Xfinity website describes their packages. 6. How long will my contract with Comcast be? Contracts with individual owners will vary depending on the package you choose. 7. When will the service be available? Approximately 6 months after County permit approval. 8. Does this affect current AT&T customers? No. Owners currently using AT&T services are not affected. 9. Has the contract been reviewed by legal counsel? Yes. Both the attorney and the exploratory committee have reviewed and approved the contract. 10. Will there still be internet at the lower rec? Yes. Current common area internet locations will remain and additional locations for television and internet will be available (exercise room, Kay Weeks, Stan Rowe ) The agreement with Comcast is for ten (10) years. This means that no other television/internet provider can access ORLK's common area for infrastructure placement for the duration of this contract. Currently, there are no other companies offering these services to our area aside from the "over-the-air" providers.
