One on One
How do you see yourself forgiven and forgiving in the community?
Ubuntu
WE DO NOT LIVE IN ISOLATION
WE ARE INTERCONNECTED
Shared Humanity• Every person has dignity and is important to
the community. When one person hurts another, the whole is hurt. When one person is forgiven, the community can be healed.
• Every person is capable of great good and great evil. No one is born a rapist or murder. We all begin as children. Listening to the story is critical.
• Everything can be forgiven. For a person, family, community, or nation to live in freedom, forgiveness must happen.
“Forgiveness is truly the grace by which we enable another person to get up, and get up with dignity, to begin a new. “ Tutu
Restorative vs. Retributive Justice
The United States has over 2 million people in the prison system.
Approximately 71,000 of the 2 million are children
Each year these numbers increase.
