Lawyers Mid-Year Conference Breaks Attendance Records
The Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA) recently broke all previous attendance re~ cords when they held their mid·yeal" -conference in Los Angeles with registration totijililg more than 300. The day-long summit on the state of African America. attorneys in the field$ of sportd and entertainment law addressed such issues as free agency and hlack on black representation. The annual conference has been schedul~ for November in Nassau, Bahamas. Mem~ bers of BESLA represent some of the nation's most successful notables which include Brian McKnight, En Vogue, Smokey Robinson, actress Kim Fields, sports great Barry Sanders and Derrick Coleman.
