Dear Friends,

It is an understatement to say we are living in challenging times. BIG ARTS and all performance venues across our country have been burdened with significant financial adjustments and programming disruptions that have entailed “turning on a dime.”

However, we continue to move forward, and our new, bright and beautiful building still hosts Monday night films, performances at reduced capacity, virtual FORUM and Talking Points lectures and a 360 virtual walk through the gallery for every exhibit. As always, BIG ARTS is vigilant in adhering to health and safety practices, which include a requirement for all visitors to wear masks and practice physical distancing. This message comes with the deepest gratitude for your friendship, support and encouragement during this unprecedented time for BIG ARTS. “Thank you” hardly says it, but please know we are genuinely appreciative and look forward to brighter days, sold-out performances and a spectacular 2022 season we are creating right now.

’Til Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3 is the latest class to be unveiled in this sinfully funny series. After teaching

countless students about the saints, venial sins, guilt, limbo and more, Sister is now offering up hilarious lessons on

the Sacraments of Marriage and the Last Rites, including her own wacky version of the Newlywed Game. Classroom

participation is a must, so bring along your sweetie and your sense of humor for a session with the country’s feistiest

couples counselor.

BIOS

DIANA CARL ALIOTO (Sister) received a BA in Theatre from Marquette University and an MFA in acting from Binghamton University in New York. She has been acting professionally for more than twenty-five years. Besides playing “Sister” since 2003, favorite roles include Bettina Barnes in Psycho Beach Party, Bunny in The House of Blue Leaves, Kaye in The Taffetas, and Matron “Mama” Morton in CHICAGO. Diana also performs in the Florentine Opera chorus in Milwaukee.

MARIPAT DONOVAN (Playwright) originated the role of Sister in Late Nite Catechism and has toured internationally, receiving rave reviews for her work in Chicago, Boston, Providence, New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland, London, and Dublin. She has worked in Chicago theater for more than 20 years, winning Joseph Jefferson citations for her work in Portrait of a Shiksa and The Good Times are Killing Me. For her work in Late Nite Catechism, she was nominated for the coveted Outer Critics Circle Award in New York for Outstanding Solo Performances. She won the Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance in Los Angeles.

ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS INC. (Producer) is based in New York City. EEI has made its mark on the theatrical touring industry by offering a variety of new and exciting plays and musicals to an ever-growing list of professional presenting organizations throughout the country. In addition, EEI has performed more than 1,500 fundraising events for schools, church groups, and private parties. EEI brings all aspects of producing under one roof: sales, production, casting, creative and technical. EEI productions have been produced and presented in all 50 states as well as in Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
