Your text is great and has lots of pictures and other features that make things easy to understand!

HOW DO WE GET TO DO SO MANY FUN THINGS? As long as we work together and follow Mme.

Ecker’s classroom procedures we will have lots of time to do fun things in class and it won’t feel boring at all!

If we don’t follow the procedures that is when we have to do boring seat work and be quiet all the time

So… it’s up to us. If we can follow a few simple procedures then we can have a blast and watch the time fly by!

MME. ECKER’S PROCEDURES FOR FUN!!! You will come to class prepared. This means

attending class with writing utensils, paper and your course material.

List of materials for French class: Binder with dividers for Introduction, Unit 1, Unit 2,

Unit 3, Unit 4, Exam 1 full package of lined paper just for French class A pencil case! With a pencil, blue/black pen, red pen,

highlighter, ruler, eraser (separate from pencil) Your school agenda (you will record lesson points, and

important dates, it will be checked on a regular basis) Text book We will do 4 projects in this class and for each project

you will need a bristol board, and coordinating coloured paper for borders and backgrounds

Page 13: Bienvenue!

MME. ECKER’S PROCEDURES FOR FUN!!! You will begin each class by moving

quietly to your seat, removing your notebooks and writing utensils from your bag and consulting the agenda posted at the front of the room.

Everyday there will be Bell Work: a question, quiz or activity on the board for you to complete. You will start this immediately (don’t wait for the bell) and I will collect it when I begin class.

It is important that you learn how to be a self-starter and that you can complete instructions without someone reminding you or repeating to you what you need to do.

Page 14: Bienvenue!

MME. ECKER’S PROCEDURES FOR FUN!!! You will prepare to leave the classroom only

once the bell rings, signalling the end of class (not two, three or even one minute before!). This means you are working on assignments or reading for information right up to the end of class.

Because we want to fit in so many fun activities like playing games, eating and making food and listening to music or watching TV/Movies/Videos we need to use every second of class time

If you do not use class time you will not be able to participate in these fun activities and you will have to stay after class regardless of other classes, lunch or the end of the day.

Page 15: Bienvenue!

MME. ECKER’S PROCEDURES FOR FUN!!! You will be on time for class. However, if

you happen to be late for class one day, you will quietly enter the room, quietly move to your seat and wait patiently for instruction. You will not interrupt me or your classmates.

Page 16: Bienvenue!

MME. ECKER’S PROCEDURES FOR FUN!!! If you miss a class, you will find the work

from the previous day in one of the folders located at the side of the room. Speak to your classmates regarding homework and assignment due dates. Make sure to come and ask me if you need help figuring out what you missed. You get to decide your success in this class!

Page 17: Bienvenue!

MME. ECKER’S PROCEDURES FOR FUN!!! If you need to use the washroom you

will wait to leave the room until all teacher-instruction and cooperative work is completed. You will advise me of where you are going and sign the washroom sign-out sheet located near the door. The amount of time you are away will be monitored.

POLICIES FOR ASSIGNMENTS AND TESTS Rough work for all compositions must be done on

lined paper in pen or pencil.

Plagiarism will result in a grade of zero. Using an online translator, or having another family member or student help you above your ability level is also considered plagiarism.

If you miss a quiz or test you will submit to me a note from your parents explaining the absence. If the evaluation is missed as a result of an unauthorized absence, you will be given a mark of zero. The make-up day for any missed tests or quizzes is your first day back at lunch. If you miss this opportunity you are choosing a zero for that evaluation.
