    Editorial

How best can we anticipate the challenge of producing a magazine that reaches the goal andexcellence that Budhanilkantha School sets for itself? How can we have our students breathelife into their magazine, Bhanjyang right from planning, going through its production andgetting it published? In bringing out this magazine we pondered upon such questions and inour attempt to answer them we worked and lived a wonderful experience.

    All the breaks you need in life wait within your imagination. Imagination is the workshopof your mind, capable of turning mind energy into accomplishment and wealth, saysNapoleon Hill. We have attempted to add a feather to the lofty imagination and creativeenergy of our children with which they will take their flight and when they return, they willfind;

Though many the flights and ambitions

The school has upheld its great traditions.

    For My Dearest

    Dearest mother,

I can hear many people say thatGod does not exist. Every time Ihear them say that, I dont quiteunderstand how they dont seethat God is amongst them. I cansay with the utmost pride andprecision that God exists, because for me, God is no oneother than you, mom. You havedone what God would have donemom, and you have to believe mewhen I say that the God had it alot easier. You have created lifetoo mom. And you have done soby going through nine longmonths of trial, stress andaffliction that I think even theGod would have applaudedbecause even the almightywould have had a hard time tobear the pain you bore to createlife, to create me. You havealways been a beacon of hopeand light, an inspiration and thebest teacher one could possiblyask for and have for me. Andmother, I cannot be gratefulenough to you for that.

From the moment my first cry

pierced the silence of thedelivery room in the hospital, tothe first stable steps my bodytook as a baby. From the tantrumsI threw when you left the roomfor five minutes, to the momentyou found me broken down andcrumpled, sobbing quietly, in thecorner of my room, you havebeen there through every littlething to the big ones for me.Guiding me, supporting me,holding on when necessary andletting go when required. Youhave been my best friend, thelove of my life, my supportsystem and of course, my mother, the best one any human can everhave. You have been no less thanwhat a fairytale godmotherwould have been for the best ofprincesses. But the fact thatmakes all the difference in theworld is that you are my ownmother and I am your own fleshand blood. You are someone whois capable of doing anything, absolutely anything, and cookfood that would leave even thebiggest chefs licking their lipsand full of envy.

Whenever I ponder about myentire life, I cannot bring myselfto envision even a nanosecondof my existence without you. Youhave listened to the wildest ofmy imaginary questions andlogics when you told me storiesand you have never betrayedeven the slightest hint ofirritation whenever I bombardedyou with the same questionsover and over, interrupting yoursteady flow. No mother, younever grew tired and gave upanswering. You answered each

question with the sameunwavering amount of love, careand compassion.

I have given you a lot of gifts overthe years on your birthday, onMothers day and sometimes, forno apparent reason at all butmother, I cannot, even with allthe gifts and treasure in theworld, repay you for all you havedone for me because what youhave done for me is immenseand cannot be subjected tomeasurment to a monetaryamount. Nevertheless mother, what you mean to me also issomething that cannot be putinto words or any gift or anythingelse for that matter.

You love me so much mother, butI like to think that I love youmore, although that is not quitepossible since your love islimitless and cannot becontained in the biggest ofcontainers and confined withinthe biggest of boundaries.Mother, even if it would meangiving up living or being publiclyhumiliated or being put throughthe most torturous horror andexcruciating pain for the rest ofmy life, I would not want to beborn to anybody else. Not in one,not in a thousand, not in amillion, not in infinite lives I willspend on this earth. And I wouldwant this because mom, becauseI wish for you to be my mother inall my lifetimes in this earth. I amyour daughter and I will be yourdaughter forever, always andbeyond my being.

    Lots of love,

    Your daughter

Football is a game,People play it for fun andfame. It is a really good game,From where Ronaldo, Messiand others came.

There is world cup in everyfour years,And if they lose, their eyes willfill with tears. There are many famous clubs, players and others,But when they start to play it,they dont bother.

Refree is the main person infootball,He decides if it is a goal,And he decides if it is a foul. But no matter what,I like football.

    You-

I keep looking in all places andeverywhere,Where you are supposed to be,But I never seem to find you,And you are all I long to see.

I just cant appear tounderstand,What it was that changed yourmind,All this time I thought Iunderstood you,When all I really was blind.

But know that I do not hate you,And know that I never will,Because I cared about you then,And I cared about you still.

Even though you have hurt me,I just cannot let you go,Nevertheless I will go on withoutyou,I just wanted to make sure youknow.

    The Type That LastsA Lifetime

Many times in our life, we girlslike to hang out with a group ofguys simply because it creates anice change of scenario from allthe girly drama. I proudly say thatI am one of those girls who liketo do this. But the difference is, Idont hang out with a wholebunch of guys but just my bestfriend. My guy best friend.

We are two people who havegrown up together doing thestuff that any normal childrenwould do; laughing at a secretjoke, ringing our neighborsdoorbells and running awaytogether before they catch us.And even though time has flownby, and weve both relativelygrown up a lot, our conversationshave the same meaninglessnessin them and yet feel like themost meaningful things one canever say. We have conversationsabout everything in our lives beit about people we know, weirdstrangers, our crushes, meangirls, stupid boys, studious nerds, bossy teachers, our respectivefutures and pretty mucheverything else. They say that abest friend is an angel in disguiseand I found my angel when I wasin the second grade.

Budhanilkantha SchoolHe meant a lot to me in the pastand he still means a lot to me atpresent and it will probablyremain this way in the future aswell. I love him very dearly, andthat was the primary reason whyit was so difficult for us when wehad to part schools and countrieswhen I started attending aboarding school and he wentabroad. I thought that this wouldmean the beginning of the endof our friendship but I shouldhave known better because welater discovered how nothing, not even long-distance, coulddent and attempt to break afriendship like ours. Yes, not eventhe damaged phones in thephone booth and slow internetfacility could come even close torupturing our bond of friendship.

I can say without even theslightest hesitation that Ibecame friends with him due tohis friendliness, his easy and verygood sense of humor, hispoliteness, his sharp mind and allthe amazing qualities hepossesses but the main thing thatdrew me to him was howprecisely and well heunderstood me. He is someonewho knows the when and whatand what not to say when hespeaks to me. He is someonewho knows just when I need himand when I am best left alone, someone who knows when Imabout to cry even before I domyself and console me beforethe first tear falls on my cheeks. It is like I am an open book to him,and he knows all my chapters byheart.

I know all of us have heard bothsides of this really often but whatI have found out from my ownexperience is that when twopeople have one heart, distancereally is only but a numberbecause distance doesnt breakrelationships and bonds, butinstead gives them the propervalue they ought to get. I knowthis by the experience I have hadwith him whenever I have gonehome. I have felt just purehappiness and satisfaction whenI have finally got the opportunityto see him on Skype and talk tohim for a whole month or so. Thedistance has only helped usrealize how important we are foreach other.

He sometimes asks me to sing asong to him and, unlike with somany others, I dont feel even aslightest hint of hesitation indoing so. And when hecompliments me afterwards, Igenuinely blush and act as if Ifeel embarrassed even though Iactually feel ecstatic on theinside. He is such a good personthat he makes me want to be abetter person as well. He makesme want to deserve him and hisfriendship.

Some of my other friends tell methat we are soul mates. But whatI believe is, loving someone andbeing in love with someone aretwo different things. And I lovehim as a best friend; Im not inlove with him. Although I have toadmit that sometimes he doesmake me want to fall for him. Butit seems to me as if we aredestined to be the closest of

friends, like we now are. And itis of little surprise that even ourbirthdays are on the same day.

He is a good person and each andevery one of his relationships isproof of that. He is a great son, agreat brother and the best friendone can ask for. He is like abrother from another mother tome. He is my friend by fate andfamily by choice. He may havesome shortcomings but he ishuman after all. He is someonewhose presence radiateshappiness and whose smilelights up a gloomy place. He is mybest friend, the type that lasts alifetime.

    I Will Wait

Ask me, ask them, ask everyoneelse you know,About where I stand now andwhere I plan to go,Ask how I reach my decision, how I found the clue,That perseverance would makeyou realize you love me and Ilove you.

I know while you read this, youwill laugh out loud and say,How you will never come backto my life, try the hardest that Imay,But I will wait for the day youreturn, and finally fresh we willstart,You will be warmly welcomedback to my life, and warmly welcomed back tomy heart,We will have then passed thehorror, the pain and thefrustration,And we will live happily everafter with everlasting,Peace, love and co-operation.

    The Dark

The darkness consumed her fromthe inside, radiating outward inwaves of utter loneliness andsorrow. She slept with one eyeopen because safety and securitywasnt an option anymore. Fiveyears ago on a moonlit night fullof fear, she saw something sheshouldnt have and shed beenrunning ever since. Her namewas Annabelle Walker, but thatwasnt important; AnnabelleWalker wasnt alive, that part ofher didnt exist anymore.

So, she became nobody.A nobody running throughstreets full of nobodies andnothings, who lived life with nojoy. She made friends with theshadows on the ceilings, thepatches of grass on the fields, thedirty spot on a table in anunknown restaurant.

She cried to herself atnight, in rat-infested corners ofgarbage disposal boxes. Shecried empty, hollow, sobs thatracked her body and threatenedto heave over her entire soul, until she was left with just theshell of herself and anunoccupied house, a victim to thelower emotions.

Until one day, the lightfought the dark and lost. Shecried, until she stopped. Andthen there was nothing. Even thenobody had succumbed to thenight. Life for others went on.

    Favor Unreturned

She was likeA wilting flower,Drained of all things,That kept the others upright.

He was likeA rushing brook,Who saw her crumpled andtired,Crowded by overgrown weeds,And wanted nothing more Than to clear the earth aroundher. And see her bloom again

So he took all he had,And poured it into her,And when finally the pinkness,Had returned to her cheeks,She looked back at him,And saw a similar sight.

He was now likeA withering shrub,Frail and planted in dry clay,And despite the deep convictionShe had in her heart to restorehim,Like he had restored her,All of her best efforts ,Left her with, with exposedroots,And dirt beneath her finger nails.

He wouldnt let her stayTo continue to try,To quench his thirst,So she left him with a wateringcan,And promised hed soon findrelief.

    Magic of The Colors

I stare up at an evening sky,At the crimson clouds that gosailing by.The hills get a sad deep greenshade

Are they two colors saying goodbye?Time; it flies and the blacknessgrowsNow a tawny owl sits wherethere were sparrows. The yellow marigolds have nolonger a cheerful look,Is something wrong, well whoknows? But no! This is common sight.Yes I saw it just last nightThe golden shall hear goodnews,When the sun against the stars,Shall win the fight. When radiant nature returns toher glory,When the silver moon of thenight shall be sorry. And obliterated from the skyshall be,And thus shall end nightsgloomy story. The red rhododendron shallplay,The cow shall chew on freshgreen hayAnd all the myriad coloredbrings rejoice,The light blue skies smile withnew day.The blue waves shall dance withships in the harbors,The green grass listens tothought of two lovers.Yes! The birds shall bring outtheir carolsAnd the praise of nature and hercolors.

    A Tribute toCartoons

    -

Every time I visit mygrandparents, I see my 6-year oldcousin totally glued to the TV.And when I catch a glimpse ofwhat he is watching, it is alwayssome cartoon or another. Thistime, it was airing Ninja Hattori. And I was genuinely surprisedwhen I asked him from whichcountry Hattori was and hereplied, without pausing, that hewas from India. This really leftme amused.

Seeing him grow up, I rememberthe days of my childhood andhow most of the momentspassed by really great. Greatmainly because of one thing,CARTOONS. Had Pokemon orTom and Jerry and so many othercartoon series not been thereduring my childhood, I cannotbegin to imagine how I wouldhave survived. It is due to these

cartoons that I first learnt to usea computer. These cartooninspired computer games arewhat helped me develop mycomputer skills.

From cartoons I learnt the art ofimagination. My creativity reallygrew as my craze for cartoonsgrew. I have learnt a great dealof lifes values from cartoons. Ilearnt the value of sibling-relationships from DexterLaboratory. I learnt how tounravel the mysteries fromScooby-Doo. I can proudly, withno hesitation whatsoever, saythat many of my life decisionsand values have been inspiredby cartoons.

So, all I am trying to do now is toexpress my sincere gratitude toall these cartoons. This article isa tribute to all the cartoons thatlit up my life and made mychildhood superb. This article isa tribute to the greatest cartoonsin the history of mankind. Thisarticle is a tribute to all the thingsthey taught me that set me onthe right mindset and path for mylife. This article is a tribute to allthose cartoons without whichnobodys childhood could haveflourished and there would be alot less love left in the world.

    Hopes and Dreams

Far away are my dreams,Which I want to accomplish,The hopes those are associatedwith them,Are forces that make itcompulsory for me to succeed.

The ray of lights, shower myheart,They set flame to the desires tostart,On the dreams that I have as oftoday,And make it my goal andpassion to achieve themsomeday.

At the end of each and everyday,Comes a deep feeling of joy,My hopes are not just onlyassets that can be forgottenwithout proper care,But they are now my dreamswhich I constantly work towardsto achieve.

    Lucid Dreams

Dreams form an important partof our life; yet the mostcondoned one. Though wespend one-third of our lifesleeping, we havent gone deepinto it. Basically, we are lessaware of the world of dreams. We hardly give any concern orresearch on dreams because ofgreater influence by the realworld. But if we assume thedreams to be another world ofours, it may arise attention inmany. Before moving on to luciddreams, here are some factsabout brain that you may like.

    1. The average person sees 1460-2190 dreams a year. The reasonwe find this number in plausibleis that we tend to forget many ofthose seen.

    2. The strangers we see in ourdreams are actually the peoplewe have already met or seen atsome point in our life.

    3. Using a new FMRI system, wecan record our dreams andeventually upload it to YouTube.

    4. We get paralysed when wedream.

    5. 12% people dream in black andwhite.

    6. A device called REM dreamerlets the people control theirdreams.

The last point above closelyrelates with the term Luciddreams. Lucid dreams isbasically a technique ofcontrolling our own dreams afterrealising the fact that one isactually dreaming. The momentyou realise it, you may alter yourdreams on your own whims. Ipersonally did it for years when Iwas a child. But talking on ageneral platform, it may be quitehard for the beginners. Still, hereare some strategies I found onthe internet that might help usin mastering that technique:

    1. Frequently asking yourself AmI dreaming?

This questioning will put you inthought, and eventually whenyou wrack your mind with thisquestion a lot in daytime, itmight come in your dreams aswell.

    2. Repeatedly thinking andpromising yourself I will beaware when I am dreamingbefore going to sleep

Commit yourself towards luciddreams. As soon as you step inyour bed, just think about luciddreaming, nothing else.

    3. Meditating and Imagining

Meditate closely to open yourinner sub consciousness. Whenyou are about to sleep, createyour own dream yourself byimagination, and slowly make it

your dreams without forgettingyourself as a dreamer.

    4. Keeping your alarms in regulartime

This may sound like a whole nightdisturbance by waking every 2hours or so, but truly, waking upand going back to the sleeprecalling the same dream youwere seeing before helps a lotin getting lucid dreams.

    5. Maintaining dream Journal

Every morning, wake up and startjotting down all the dreams youcan remember. Make it aeveryday routine and try not tomiss any.

    6. Performaing reality checks

Reality checks basically help inverifying the dream. Wheneveryou start feeling that the thingsyou are seeing are not real, gofor reality checks. Here are somereality checks that might helpyou:

    i. Counting your fingers andseeing the shape of the fingers.

ii. Looking over a copy andchecking whether all lettersappear readable.

iii.Looking whether the clock isproperly oriented or not.

Using these techniques, you cansurely achieve lucid dreams. Itmay be tedious at first, butbelieve me, if you consistentlyput little hard work, you will lovethat unique experience.

The guy at the zebra crossingturned left and then turned right. He saw no vehicle so he decidedit was safe to cross the road. Then, he crossed the road safelyand went home to his waitingfamily, spent Christmas merrily, clicked lots of pictures and wentto sleep in bliss.

I wish I could say that all this waswhat happened.

But sadly, he did not go homethat night, nor did he celebrateChristmas and click pictures.Instead, he got hit by a car. Henever returned home. Poor ZackBerry died that night.

Sia Berry, his wife, and Angel andJake, his children waited late forZack to come back home. Theythought that Zack was late oncemore, that too on Christmasnight. Sia called Zack all throughthe night but Zack did not answerhis phone nor did he return anyof her calls. She knew that Zackloved his job almost as much ashe loved her and their children. And not returning home at nightswas not uncommon in theirhousehold.

In his last few moments, Zackswhole life flashed before him.

Him learning to walk with hismom, him learning to cycle withhis dad, him meeting Sia for thefirst time on the first day of highschool, him proposing Sia formarriage and her saying Yes, theday of their marriage, himholding just born Angel, himholding just born Jake, theirfamily going for picnic to thebeach and all other happy timesof his life, just happy times. Hislast word was Sia.

Sia was really, reallydisappointed in Zack that night. He had promised, he had swornon Sia, that he would be on timefor Christmas celebrations. Butno, he had broken his promise.Sia wondered if their marriagemeant anything to him at all. Shewondered whether he wouldeven be on time for her funeral. She wondered if hed ever givetime to his children in the future. She wondered if hed ever careabout his children, about her, about their family.

Meanwhile, the cops found Zacklying in the middle of the road, blood smeared all over his body,

every drop dry by then. Lyingbeside him, they found six bagsfull of Christmas gifts. One baghad clothes and Barbie dolls forAngel. Another had toy laserguns and toy racecars for Jake. Two other bags contained lightsand decorations for hanging on aChristmas tree. The fifth bag hada pair of beautiful earrings fromTiffanys for Sia. The last bag wasalso for Sia. It was a letter ofZacks promotion. It would havemeant less time in office, moreat home, with his family, with hiswife. He wanted the last gift tosurprise her, make her ecstaticwith joy. He wanted to give herthe most valuable gift anyonecan ever gift someone else. Histime and his love, the returns ofall the lonely nights and each andevery second he had spent awayfrom his family.

Sia sat weeping in theirapartment, still in hope Zackwould make it back home, atleast to keep his promise. Siawanted Zack to come home, andcome fast. What she did notknow was how fate had otherplans for her, and none for Zack.

    Love

The sun ascended high up on thehorizon. The warm rays streamedthrough the thick window panes andmy eyes flew wide open at once.Today, I need not be cajoled to getout of my bed. It is only Saturday forothers. But, for me, it is a FootballDay.

Quickly, I jumped out of my bed andlooked out of the window to assessthe weather. To my relief, it was a fineday. No sign of the merciless sun andclouds as white as cotton, as ifpainted in the portrait of the divine, spread out all over the sky. This scenewas often accompanied by the coolzephyrs that sent chilling sensationsdown the back of my spines. Theimportant thing was that there wasno hint of rain which meantcontinuous hours of football for meand my friends. Seeing the day, agame spirit of Ronaldo aroused inme and spurred me to be the nextRonaldo. So, grabbing my nearestand dearest thing football - I headedoff to call my friends for a footballmatch.

Football, for me, was no less thanGod himself. Every time I saw therounded, black and white, shiny orbmy heart leapt. The object hadcaptivated my heart and soul sincethe age of three and never once, hadI got bored with it. The round ballmeant everything to me. Wecommunicated in a differentlanguage. Our intimacy knew nobounds. What should I call ourrelation? Love? Yes, that is the word.

I loved football and I knew that sheloved me too.

First, I went to Varuns; whose homewas the nearest one to mine. I rangthe doorbell thrice which was thearcane call among us to say It sfootball time and anticipated himto come out roaring football but itdid not happen. I was rathersurprised to see his mother openingthe door. She said, Sorry beta, hecannot come today. He is sick. Thosewords stabbed in my heart; notbecause my friend was sick but rathermy concern was that a space for adefender would be vacant whichmeant danger for my team and ofcourse, extra work for me. Oh man!Remember, I was a professional whenit came to football.

Getting out of the world of my worriesand concern, I managed to say Noproblem, aunty when it actuallymeant all the problems in the worldto me. This simple event bore an illomen for the rest of my day.

One by one, I went to all my otherfriends houses only to hear similarresponses. He is busy. He has gonehere, he has gone there and yadayada yada. Finally, when not evenone showed up, I thought of going tothe football field thinking that atleast laying there would conciliateme.

As I lay down on the ground, thearoma of fresh green grasssurrounding me seemed to sootheme. What a perfect waste of aperfect day , I grumbled. That waswhen I heard her voice which saidHi.

I abruptly stood up knowing that thebeautiful voice belonged to abeautiful girl. When I laid my eyesupon her, I was completely takenaback by her beauty. Just like herbeautiful voice, she was immensely

charming. Her golden, blonde hairreplicated Rapunzels. Her darkbrown eyes took hold of me and Icould not dare avert my gaze evenfor a second. A divine fragrancesurrounded her from which onecould easily make out that it was notjust the mere effect of perfumes.

Once again, she said Hithere. And, I was jolted back toreality. I immediately deduced thatshe was a new girl in our school whohad recently moved into town. Iresponded back with a friendly Hi.She said, I do not really have manyfriends here. Can I hang out withyou? I simply nodded, unable tobelieve my luck.

We talked about almost everything -school, parents, hobbies and so on.I found her to be the most interestingperson. Her every view was justified, unlike that of other beauties whosimply considered their beauty to bethe answer of every question on thisearth. As time passed, I came to knowmore about her. Every adjectiverelated to good could be attributedto her. We became good friends andeventually the best friends. Sincethen, she has always been with me.She was my new found love. Ofcourse, I play football every now andthen but frankly, I could choose herover football any day.

Ten years hence, we are husbandand wife. Ever since she entered inmy life, she has been my luckycharm and brought all the prosperityto me. And, ever since I married her, success has become my shadow. Iwould like to take this opportunityto thank all those friends who didnot come to play with me that fatefulday. Had even one of them turned up,life would have followed a differentcourse. And, I can rest assured thatthe life I am living right now cannotbe made any better, thanks to mylove.

Budhanilkantha SchoolThe Live of My Life

    -

I watched as the nurse changedhis IV tube. The doctor had toldus about a month ago that he hadcancer. Cancer; it is amazing howthis one six-lettered word iscapable of taking away any signof hope from anyones life. Andin my life as well, it has done thesame thing. It is the reason whymy grandfather may never againtell me stories of when he wasyoung. Cancer can take his lifeaway.

We wanted to get him treatedbut the doctor said there was nohope. We wanted him to gothrough chemotherapy but eventhat possibility was ruled out.Due to his kidney failure, hecould not be put in medication. He had the incurable form ofcancer.

My grandfather used to be amystery to me when I wasyounger. Through his stories, Iused to travel into the worlds ofangels and demons, fairies andmonsters, good and bad, beautyand evil. Lost in these stories heused to tell me, I imagined thehero to be my grandfather andthe heroine as my grandmother.I loved him dearly and willalways do.

His body has now betrayed hismental strength and it hurts mewhen I see him. Once soenthusiastic throughout everyups and downs of his life, nowbedridden and weak. Eventhough he cannot go to thebathroom himself, he still hasthat twinkle in his eyes thatmakes others feel as if he knowsa big secret that they dont. Helooks much older than he actuallyis, all wrinkled and always tired, but even in this situation, hemakes us laugh with his funnyanecdotes and jokes and givesus all pocket money so that weall live with a smile in our faces.

My grandfather has alwayssmiled. His crooked smile at mealways told me that whateverthe circumstances, whatever thetime, whatever the place, hewould always be there for me. Itbreaks my heart to think of himin this situation. Even though hewants to live desperately, I canbe of no help at all. I cannotmake him live more by giving himsome of my time on this earth, Icannot take him shopping and Icannot take him to parks and playFrisbee with him. I feel like Ihave failed him somehow. I feeltotally helpless.

Right now, he has beendischarged, not because he iswell but because he cannot betreated and cured. After a four-month stay at the hospital, heshowed no signs of recovery. Hehas a nurse at home all the timenow, reminding me how severehis illness actually is. I just wish Icould go back in time, ride on his

back, him pretending to be ahorse, when I used to tell himthings he already knew about buthe still listened with deepinterest and fascination andwhen he would chase after meuntil I got caught after awrongdoing.

I do not know how much time hehas left and when his time willcome. I just dont want to be toolate. I just want him to know thatI love him. I love you Baba, youhave been, are, and will alwaysremain the love of my life.

    The Four SeaterBench

Every afternoon, the park isblessed with her presence.Shes perfect ;straight brownhair with a little fringe, prettythick eyelashes, fish shapedeyes one of which isembellished with the fringe thatcovers it. But she seems like sheis invincible, possibly because Ifind her smiling at every otherperson who passes by. But whenI look at her, into those beautifuleyes, I see her entangled in anenigma.

    It all started when Iheard people talk about herbrother, a young man who wascriticized everyday for being anavy, until he joined the armyand got murdered few monthsago. They didnt see her dropeven a tea during the funeral;

even though she considered herbrother as her only companion. There are rumors about herfather leaving the family whenshe was a little kid. Her mother, deliberately, died two days afterthat.

I look at her, sitting inthat four-seater bench, andassume that the three emptyspaces are for the rest of thefamily. She has lost every singleperson that she could call hers. And I m here, sitting on a bench, twenty meters away from that ofhers, crying everyday, about thatone boy who broke my heart.

Life was in front of me like atreasure chest; and if love wasjust to breathe in his ear. It wasso easy to say forever. Butforever could end in just yearsor months, or even days. I knowthat theyll be there forever. Then why is it that I cant moveon? Why am I still on this bunch, cursing myself for a bad endingof a relationship? There arepeople with even worseproblems, living their livespassing smiles to everyonearound them; and what am Idoing?

    The Sentinels

Raigor approaches, below him the ground rumbles, the earth shakes. His enchanted totems can createfissures, his movement sent shocks miles away, his fury ravages the ground and his rage echoesthroughout the world. He is our hero, the earthshaker.

Lanya appears from the shadows. She is sneaky, she is clever. Her camouflage is undetectable herabilities unparalleled. She sets her traps, melts inthe nature and waits for her prey. She is theassassin.

Razzil brings us gold; the gold hunter. His greed ishis strength, his innocence ours. His chemicalscreate chaos. His pal is an ogre, his rage a monster. His chemicals turn mountains into gold. He is thealchemist who excels in fighting.

They are sentinels and they are ready.

    Every Single Day

The bustling street of the flea market was crowdedwith vendors and hankers, each having somethinginteresting to show; toys and trinket, as theynegotiated with their bargaining buyers on thosegrothy, graveled streets. The scorching afternoonsun made them even muckier with sweat beadsthat glistered on their tanned faces.

Kurt Manzano hopped into the bus after sensingthe trauma of the street. Now that he had to leaveeverything behind in his hometown, he was fullydetermined to be dedicated to his writings withevery bit of interest left. He was off to New York,to pursue his literary dreams and complete his firstnovel. The only thing he aspired was going to NewYork City; as a successful writer who could gratifythe taste of any reader. With high spirits, he knewthat he had to quench demands that were tougherthan ever in New York city

Budhanilkantha SchoolKurt had, like any other typical teenager, alwaysdreamed of the big city, New York. As he grew in tothis well-built figure now twenty-two, he venturedto this journey; from the dusty streets of Oklahomato the city of New York. A few days later, he wasliving in an old friends apartment, re-editing theplot of his first novel. But now, he needed money. In a rush, he grabbed the job of a waiter at a motelnearby. This pay could at least buy him all hisnecessities, though not supporting any lavishexpenses. Most of all, he knew that he wasntsupposed to be broke anymore. The other motelwaitress and the cashier guy were also in theirtwenties, like him, aspiring for something huge, with their own dream and ambitions. The cashierseemed to be anucicable and messy with hisdreadlocks. Sophie, the waitress was on charm. Her big brown eyes, wavy dark brown hair, and thewarmest smiles did the charm. She was the life ofthe motel; humorous, cracking jokes and a fewsareasme, managing the food and the dishes, alsocheering up even the sternest of customers.

Kurt and Sophie turned out to be getting along verywell with each other. Their coffee dates, chit-chatswhere they shared their hobbies, ambitions andmost of all, the common interest both of themshared in literature led their relationship to groweven deeper. By then, a month had passed andKurt was ready with work. He submitted copies ofhis work to various publications in the city; evenin the suburbs too and a few places outside thecity. The outcome: a swarm of rejection letterspiled up in his room. He felt like he was adevastated but no he couldnt let his hopes shipaway that easily. So, he re-edited some more, andin a due course of time he was prepared to submitthose papers. But this time, he was completelysabotaged after being rejected from all the placesagain. This disgraceful event got him to drop hisinterest like for an eternity. Sophie promised tohelp him out but he had given up his hopescompletely. He decided to never start-over again, ever. He decided to go back to his home and goback to where he started. He didnt even leave agoodbye message to Sophia or the cashier.

Few days later, Sophia took a break from the moteldue to her illness. Her condition grew even worseafter a few weeks time, so the doctors suggestedher to take complete rest. But Sophie was there, putting up the plotting and coloring the story thatKurt had left. She wasnt willing to give up eventhough she was becoming more fragile day by day;she wanted to finish off the whole story. Gradually, she grew completely miserable and the thoughtof not being able to see Kurt was killing her evenmore. Kurt, on the other side, received an emailfrom the cashier where he came to know aboutSophies severe condition. Immediately, he cameback to new York and rushed to the hospital, thenjostled down the hallways and finally reached theroom. There he was Sophia lying on the bed andher soul ling gone. Next to her, washer fatherholding her hand sobbing. The doctors apologizedto Kurt for not being able to save her. Also, one ofthe nurses gave Kurt an envelope and said thatSophies last wish was to get those paperspublished. In grief, Kurt took those paper out andsaw those neatly carved letters say with love-Sophia

With those words came flooding back all thosebittersweet memories both had together. As tearsrolled down his cheeks, the virtual pictures of themtogether flashed in his mind; as he reckened tofulfill her wish and get the novel published.

A few months later, stacks of magazine had alreadystated the novel as their no.1 bestsellers, complementing the authors intrigiving plots andlanguage. Now, in her memory, Kurt smiles andcherishes the memories he spent with her, howthey sat together and laughed, went to the beachand enjoyed the lapping waves of the sea withtheir picnic basket, every single day

In the world today, people wantto go from one place to another. They simply dont want to remainat one place for a long time. Thewild animals too travel and weare human beings, the mostdeveloped amongst the livingcreature and how can we expectto be just in a same place for thewhole life. Different peoplehave different purpose oftravelling. Some travel to attainknowledge some go to healthierplaces in order that they canrecover from their brokenhealth, some for pleasure andsome for earning money.

As a country like ours dontpossess much quality educationand in the seek of qualityeducation most of the student goabroad to continue their study.Similarly, some educated personmay go to some culturally richcountry like our for the studyabout Nepalese culture.Furthermore the modernizationhas brought vigorous change inthe world and with it it also hasinvited pollution. Many peopleare suffering from healthproblems due to pollution. So toeradicate it they choose to moveto a clean and healthierenvironment.

On the other hand, these daysthe people just want to enjoy alot. Everything is done by themachines and the people arebecoming more lazy andworkless. So to entertainthemselves they travel. It givesa kind pleasure to them.

Moving on to the next point asIve mentioned before that theworld has developed a lot. Eachcountry is with contact to eachothers. In order to extend thebusiness, people travel fromone country to another.

So, to sum up travelling can leadus to the vast brotherhood in theworld. We can thus say thattravel broadens our mind.

    Budhanilkantha SchoolDo You Believe?

Just watch the darkest nightYou see the stars shiningWith those sparkling lightLeaving sorrows and fears behind.

Its completely dark thereBut again you can see themShining brightly, without fearTo bring the brightness everywhere.

When you see a shooting starAmong those glowing stars

You finally make a wishAnd fetch your mind, a peace.

When your wishes come trueYou do believe themWith your happy heartAnd wish it to come again.

When my wishes fail to comeI still believe those beautiesWith my thankful heartIn the previous night.

Just leave the darkness behindAnd look for the shineTo find the path of lightWhere your life is destined.

And then you can see the shooting star.Wishing for a year to comeNow, I have a question to ask you allDo you believe in a shooting star?
