Why choose our Berry Floor parquets?

Stability and resistance to wear and tear are the main priorities in the structure and manufacture of our parquet floors.

Quality checks at all levels of the process therefore are carried out using the best techniques available:

• electronic monitoring of drying and stabilisation rooms

• automatic control of humidity of the workshop

• checking machining of materials by video camera

• ongoing tests of high-performance pressing

• manual checking of the machining of the interlocking system (LOC) by video projector

• visual, dimensional and tactile checking of the different stages of the processes

One of the first reasons of course is the combination of nobility and the natural elegance of wood, whichguarantees a rich appearance and finish that only a parquet of great quality can provide. Wood by nature has different hues; this is the natural character that makes your parquet floor so unique.

This is particularly true of exotic woods the colours of which are usually quite contrasting.

Examples: Iroko: from golden yellow to brown

Jatoba: from deep pink to orange-red

Merbau: from orange to brownish red

Walnut: from pale beige to brown

• Great dimensional stability particularly in variable climatic conditions.

(board < 8% humidity absorbency factor)

• Improved performance with regards crushing and impact,

eliminating risk of splits and deterioration in the surface

• Machining precision which- improves clipping facility between boards- reduces the time required for laying- increases the strength of the interlocking system (resistance to pulling apart > 850kg …)- guarantees perfect joins between boards on four sides and reduces the risk of warping between boards

• Thanks to its weight, improves sound resonance and reduces sound transmissions between rooms

• Guarantees even surface appearance to reflect the evenness of the board (in contrast to battened boards)

High performance varnish

Our three different varnishes which are

extremely rich in aluminium oxide, make

our parquet floors exceptionally resistant to

abrasion/wear and tear and guarantee great

durability with a natural look and finish.

Ultimtec® is our latest generation of

varnish.With Ultimtec®, Berry Floor parquet floors

cross a new and very important threshold

when it comes to technology and surface

protection effectiveness. Ultimtec® varnish

sets new norms for durability and

aesthetics. The excellent balance achieved

between the strength and hardness of the

surface results in a spectacular

improvement in the resistance to abrasion

and scratches (more than 10,000 Taber

revolutions). In order to demonstrate

these outstanding results we compared

Ultimtec® with a selection of 11

representative competitive products on

the market. The result: Ultimtec® proved

its superiority both in terms of resistance

to wear and tear as well as in tests for

scratch resistance. It currently produces

some of the better if not the best results

on the market.

Ensuring the lowest possible emissions compared to the norms in force is another of our missions. This means that

ensuring that our products produce very low emissions is what guides us in our selection of our raw material and

manufacturing processes.

After 7 days:

• OVC (Organic Volatile Composition): < 130µg/m3 - 4 times less than the norm (500µg/m3)

• FORMALDEHYDE : < 7,5µg/m3 - 15 times less than the norm (120µg/m3)

(Measures according to DIN ISO 16000-9 carried out by Wilhelm-Klauditz Institut D38108 Braunsweig)

Quality of life

Berry Wood consciously follows a policy of respecting the environment and promoting the sustainable management

of the resources that it uses in manufacturing its products. For this reason it is committed to purchasing wherever

possible, raw materials from sustainably managed forests. The criteria for obtaining the sustainable forest management

certificate means assuring that traceability and follow-up of the supplies through all the stages of manufacturing and

marketing the wood products are rigorously checked. In fact Berry Wood has been committed to sustainable forest

management since 2001 when it subscribed to the FSC label. Berry Wood moreover is PEFC certified (100% for

Oak and Beech species), which promotes a certification system for sustainable forest management.

Guarantee:Our parquet floors are guaranteed for ten years for 2.5 mm facing (Majestic and Palace ranges) or 20 years for 3.3 mm facing (EcoForest, Noble and Héritage ranges) based on domestic use of the product. The guarantee for commercial use is subject to a prior agreement with Berry Wood and depends on the product andthe species of wood chosen as well as the area where it is to be used. The 10 and 20-year guarantees for our parquetfloors are reinforced by the lifetime guarantee of the BerryLOC® system.

A few basic tips:

• Leave the parquet flat for 24 to 48 hours in the roombefore laying it

• When laying the parquet be sure to respect roomtemperature recommendations (15 to 25°C) as wellas moisture levels (40 - 65%) and concrete floorhumidity (<3%)

• Be sure that your subfloor is clean, flat, dry • When laying floating parquet you need to lay a layer

of polyane film beforehand (for damp insulation)• Leave 8/10 mm around the edges to allow for play

in the movement of the parquet floor depending onweather conditions

• Mix the boards from different packs together beforelaying them to create a more asthetically balancedlook to the floor

• Underfloor heating: Laying on underfloor heatedsurfaces (temperature 28°C max) is possible (exceptfor Beech, Maple, and Jatoba). Laying a floor “fullyglued” guarantees the efficiency of the underfloorheating

• Our parquet floors are not designed for bathrooms.Please follow recommendations if laying parquet ina room with direct access to outdoors.

We strongly advise you to use a doormat

Everyday maintenance:• brush• vacuum cleaner• wipes• slightly damp, well-wrung mop (water and wood do not go together well)

Give a new shine to your parquet floor• clean your floor thoroughly• apply a grease remover or active cleaner• then apply a layer of polish or metallic finish polish

Recommendation: Berry Floor recommends using the following products:

When laying the floor, the minimum conditions for use and moisture measurement, as mentionedin the user's manual and in the DTU (France) or similar documents (other countries), with respectto the laying of the parquet, need to be respected.

For the maintenance of specific finishes, contact your retailer.
