The German Federal Government and the Renewable Energy Federation (BEE), along with its partners BSW-Solar, eclareon and dena, havethe pleasure to invite you and your students to become part of the high-level Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue on 17 and 18 April 2018 (www.energiewende2018.com). We invite you not only to follow via livestream, but also to engage in the interactive discussion by sharing your knowledge and joining the dialogue live on Twitter. In recent years, the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue has become a leading international forum for high-level policymakers, industry, science and civil society to exchange ideas about a safe, affordable and environmentally responsible global energy transition, or as we like to say in German "Energiewende". Last year, we had 2,000 participants from almost 100 countries with more than 30 ministers, 50 official delegations and a social reach of over 10 million online users discussing topics such as investment flows, system integration or long-term scenarios.

We are inviting you to watch the livestream of the conference on 17-18 April 2018 and join the discussion via Twitter. In every corner of the world, everyone would thereby get a great opportunity to not only follow but also engage in an interactive discussion by sharing their feedback, voting on energy issues and joining the dialogue live on Twitter.

There is a new normal in the energy world: renewables and energy efficiency are on the rise and are constantly setting new records in technology, investment and deployment. Moreover, the digitisation and potentially disruptive technologies are giving rise to changing business dynamics and to new markets. We see the need to capitalise on these developments. What are their implications? How can we integrate an energy transition across all sectors? How can we reach the targets of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda?Let us address these questions together and take another step in building a global energy transition network. We look forward to your valuable input.

Connect with us on social media to make the conference livelier than ever! Every transition needs a meeting point where people can get together to put change into practice. We have chosen the GREEN ENERGIEWENDE SOFA as this meeting point. It is the icon of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue. You can join the dialogue right away! We are looking forward to your valuable input @greensofa_betd on Twitter, Hashtag: #betd2018.

As in the past, you will find the climate friendly GREEN ENERGIEWENDE SOFA at all Energiewende hotspots in the coming months.
