Upon entering the salon from the master suite the dining area is passed through first. This is comprised of a full size dining table capable of seating eight and three built in credenzas. The whole is ideal for either buffet or formal service. The elegant, wooden table and chairs match perfectly the fine Benetti mahogany cabinetwork featured here and in the salon. A twelve-foot long credenza, storing the ship’s china and glassware, nicely separates the dining area from the adjoining main salon. Abutting this on the other side is a large, comfortable L-shaped sofa complete with antique side tables and an oversize coffee table. The main salon is approximately forty feet in length with fifteen large picture windows. This creates an open and spacious impression. This suite offers 180 degree views and is finished in beautifully crafted hand rubbed maple. The suite comprises of a double bed with storage underneath, full size double hanging locker, built in desk and vanity and slatted maple blinds. The stateroom also has an en-suite bathroom. Bevelled glass windows and door, in the same style as the salon, separate the suite from the aft upper deck. Immediately aft of the guest suite is a large teak U-shaped settee with a large adjustable dining table. She was built in 1980 at the prestigious Benetti Shipyard, a yard having a history of top quality yacht construction since 1873. Although she has charm and romance not found on more modern yachts, she is also built for real blue water cruising and has proven to be self-sufficient in remote locations for extended periods of time. She boasts a range in excess of 6000 nautical miles and has one of the most efficient hull designs in this size of vessel we have seen. She was substantially restored mechanically, structurally and cosmetically in 1996/97 at the Bradford Shipyard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In May 2000 she received another refit further modernising and updating her mechanical, electronic and electric systems. Some of the major upgrades completed in May 2000 include: installation of a new Atlas 35 Kwa Shore Power Frequency Converter, new Koopnautics AVA Stabiliser Controller, new electrical sub panels and wiring runs, replacement of water system with new copper piping and circulating pumps, complete rebuild of starboard generator, rebuild to “as new” water maker, overhauled hydraulics to Bow Thruster, overhauled steering hydraulics, replacement of all safety equipment including the provision of two new SOLAS 16 man life-rafts, installation of Seatel 4094 Satellite TV system with one receiver, new Nera Worldphone Inmarsat Mini-M satphone with fax and data, new computer system with latest navigational software.
