UNIT -I RESIDENTIAL STATUS & COMPUTATION FO SALARIES
Definition of important terms used in income, tax, agricultural income, gross total income, assessee, assessment year, previous year. Residential status and tax liability. Types of residents – individual, H.U.F., firm and other association of persons and companies.
UNIT -II SALARY
Income from salary, meaning of salary, allowances, perquisites, valuation of perquisites, profit in lieu of salary, deductions u/s 16 (I,II&III) classification of provident fund, taxable income from salary.
