BASED ON THE NOVEL, THE RAILWAY CHILDREN CHOOSE  A CHARACTER THAT APPEALS TO YOU MOST.

Of all the characters i have read about in this book, the character i most want to emulate is mother. She appeals to me because she embodie's what i strive to be, she is very stoic for example, when her husband was taken to prison all of a sudden, she did not break down nor show her pain to anyone.

Mother is a homely type.We can read that she spends most of her time at home,playing with the children and reading stories to them.She is a very protective woman.She protected her children for worrying or feeling sad about their father.She did this by not telling them what really happened to their father.She also told them that they need to play being poor for a while in order ot to cause more anxiety on them.We can see how resourceful a woman she is.Mother wrote stories and sold them to put food on the table.Furthermore,we can see that mother is a very dignified person.Althoug they were poor, she strongly discouraged her children from telling people that they are poor and asking for help.

Finally,she is also very caring towards strangers,this can be seen in chapter 8  when she took in an injured boyand nursed him back to health and was rewarded when the boy's grandfather, the old gentleman helped release their father as the idiom goes "one good turn deserves another"
