Parish

Office Hours: Currently the office is occupied on a Thursday from 9:30am until 2:30pm. We have voicemail set up on the office phone for you to leave a message if the office is unattended. The parish email address (as on the front page) is checked regularly during the week.

Thank you: Thank you to Pastor David Freckelton for taking the services last Sunday (3rd January) at Immanuel, LP and Dutton whilst Pastor Damien was leading the Confirmation service at St Peters Lutheran Church, Greenock. It was greatly appreciated.

Strait Gate Congregation: Could all those responsible for reports for the Strait Gate AGM please have them to Judy Schmidt by the 31st of January.

Strait Gate Congregation: Please note change of date for Strait Gate’s AGM. This will now be held on Sunday the 28th of February immediately after the 9:00am service. Please amend this date in your diary.

Immanuel, Light Pass Congregation: The Annual General Meeting is planned for February 7th. Please forward reports to Jill Boehm by January 17th. Anyone not wishing to continue on in their position on a committee in 2021, please let Jill Boehm or Wes John know TODAY.

Stockwell Congregation: The AGM is on Thursday 18th February at 7:00pm. Please give all reports to Lynette Jaeger by Sunday 24th January. Church Council members are reminded that the AGM planning meeting is this Friday the 15th of January at 7:30pm.

Confirmation Classes 2021: If there is anyone in Year 7 or above that is interested in attending Confirmation classes in 2021, please contact Pastor Damien.

Thank you for your patience as we print and bind the Parish directories. We are in the process of distributing them, however, we are continually receiving updates to this directory (which we do appreciate). As a result, some copies are more up to date than others, but to rectify this we will send out a list of all changes for you to amend your own copies.

COVID-19 Guidelines:

Members are asked to observe the following within the Barossa North Lutheran Parish:

- If unwell - please do not come to Church services or events.

- Seek medical support and testing if appropriate.

- Use hand sanitiser on entering the church and check in. Regularly wash or sanitise your hands.

- Couples and families can sit together but please maintain 1.5m distance between groups ie leave a pew between each group.

- Please follow any directions given by ushers or pastor.

Offering plates will be placed at the entrance of your church. This will enable the offering to be brought to the altar during the offertory prayer to be blessed.

Upcoming Events

The 49th LCA SA-NT District Convention of Synod will be held from Saturday 15th to Sunday 16th May 2021 at the Barossa Arts and Convention Centre, Tanunda.

Please put this date in your diaries.

COVID-Safe Check In Procedure:

It is now a legal requirement for anyone with a phone that is compatible to check in when entering a business/establishment with a QR code. Checking in is quick and easy and can be completed by following the below steps;

1. Download or log into the free mySA GOV app.

2. Scan the displayed QR code with your phone’s camera by hovering above the code.

3. Enter your name and phone number (this only needs to be done the first time you scan

a QR code).

4. Follow the prompts.

5. A message will be displayed to say that you are checked in.

If you require any help to complete this process, please do not hesitate to ask someone in your congregation to help you.
