Planning tender, Llano Amarillo, Algeciras. Tender for the planning of the coast area of Llano Ama-rillo in Algeciras, carried out jointly with On-Alab. 2005
Llano Amarillo is an area of land which is currently a parking facility for those using the ferries which cross the Straits of Gi-braltar.The Ayuntamiento de Algeciras wishes to recover this space for the city by means of a large park capable of accommo-dating parking areas, an open-air auditorium, restaurant ar-eas, a conference hall and a cycle lane. The proposal also has to reconsider the current confi guration of the avenue of El Carmen, which currently acts as a boundary between the city and the site. The objective of the proposal is to bring the city closer to the sea.A study of orientation and of winds is being carried out for the elevated areas, to establish the appropriate choice of veg-etation and species of trees for the surface area.

Tender in Guadalajara Tender for a new Residential Area of 4000 Dwelings in Gua-dalajara.2006 Client: Guadalajara Council
Creation of a new urban structure which is intended as a residen-tial area integrating green zones giving, as a result, the creation of a piece of city, in contrast to the idea of a peripheral residen-tial neighbourhood. The adaptation of this sector to the urban scheme is, then, a determining factor in the favourable response received. The criteria which have been taken into account in the realization of the project are as follows:1.-Environmental Criteria: direction of the sun and orientation, height and distance between buildings, topography, accessibility, mobility, scheme of public green areas, connectivity and perme-ability.2.-Building Criteria: energy saving, water management, ground management, vegetation, integration with nature, materials and waste management.

Master Plan Calafell, south-west sector Project and Technical direction of 1500 dwellings.2011Client: Calafell Council
General planning proposal of 1500 dwellings with regard to the fore-cast of the P.G.O.U.The general planning proposed meets the objectives of achieving the correct set up in the territory of the expansion of the “Casco Antiguo de Calafell”, consistent with the decisions of the P.G.O.U. For this reason, the proposal starts with the defi ning element of the cre-ation of a promenade connectiong el “Casco Antiguo” with the existing “Rambla” and at the same time with the Partial Plan which reaches the rail-way line, and which gives connection to the beach. By means of this axis of roads, unifying the overall structure of the territory, the resi-dential fabric is formed. In this way it is intended that the urban spread of the “Casco Antiguo”, which at present ends suddenly at the longi-tudinal face of the C-340 road, is extended on the other side of the road, creating a facade with an urban perspective of continuous build-ing. This compact mass of buildings gradually thins out before fi nish-ing with the “Rambla del Migdia”. At the other side of this is situated a type of garden city and detached multi-family blocks, which allow the achievement of minimum size as regards the number of homes of resi-dents, allowing the confi guration of the concept of built-up area, with some connotations of residential type.

Trade Fair & Conference Hall Reus Tender realized in collaboration with Realia. Size: 40.000m²Reus CouncilIn the South-West of Reus we can fi nd one of the most important areas of the city which is developing a new urban project called Tecnoparc. This area will house a new Fair and Conference Hall located in the heart of this area. With the aim of creating an interactive and gathering atmosphere, this building is laid-out in an exempt way, so that the four corners of the building are open, giving way to green areas and gardens, promenades and entertainment areas, which create a central area called “circle” in the open air, where any kind of activity can take place, establishing an especial dialogue with the surrounding space as well as with the open-air public area in the technological park, hop-ing to get it integrated in the city.

Commercial Centre tender realized in collaboration with Realia. Size: 30.000m²Reus Council
The commercial and leisure centre project in Reus is situated in a strate-gic position inside the urban panora-ma of the town: the point where the showground, the Sant Jordi and 11th September Avenues converge. The organic, vibrant shapes of the new centre are reminiscent of the movement of the traffi c and of peo-ple strolling. The singularity of this architecture stands out against the urban landscape, giving a picture of an identifi able element which brings together architecture, technology, movement and interchange.

Accordance with our environmental principles and intentions, the proposed building conform to criteria of sustainability to meet the needs and responsibilities that the environment requires compensating them with the high demand for commercial spaces and of entertainment that our society generates. This balance is achieved through best practices and use of new technol-ogies.There will be areas of infi ltration, avoiding com-pletely waterproof materials in the pavement of the adjacent building.

Tender for Dwellings at Parla,Madrid Tender for the construction of a residential building in Madrid, carried out jointly with On Alab. 2005.

The proposal is considered according to three lines of study: the temporariness of
the use of the home, the autonomy of energy and the economic viability.
The conclusion of these premises is that it is essential that the project has: fl exibility
of use in its topology, bioclimatic strategies deriving from the architectural design
(comfort has to be possible, as much in the urban space as in the residential units)
and materials of low cost economically, but with characteristics which provide the
desired levels of quality.

The commercial building for Ofi prix arises from the premise that it should become the corporate image of the company. For this reason, situated as it is at a key point in the confl uence of highways, it has a glazed entrance of cir-cular shape so that it creates the same image from any point. This area, given over to dual-space entrance foyer is the nexus of the link between the two industrial bays which serve as showroom and offi ces. Both bays are lined with sheet metal panels which integrate, at their joints, the identifying colours of the com-
pany.

The compact form of the plant and its semi-underground allows effi cient control of Outer climatic variations. The special systems of environmental control are two; a Trombe wall on the south side that turns toward the west facade and a gallery at the corner of the south facade with the west façade, on the other hand the under-ground part of the building contributes greatly to environmental control. These systems come characterized by its high thermal mass useful (the fl oor of the gallery is a material with good thermal inertia) and using the green-house to increase energy capture.
{ | } { { | ~ {Contest for a Nursery on “Can Bellot”Client: Escofet 1886
The whole operation is moving to obtain a modern nursery in a natural location. The introduction of “Airpot”as a support system growth, redefi ning the conditions of exploitation of space de-voted. This means that the traditional support of agricultural terraces forming horizontal planes is unnecessary, and can work with the only remaining limitation of the suitability of the machinery for the work of aid.If growth of the nursery, the system free of planting that is proposed does not require to modify the slopes sur-rounding natural terrain, so if the restoration of the natural topography of the plantation is now considered eco-nomically forced, if we would occupations to consider it in natural forested slope.

The irrigation infrastructure would be modifi ed slightly by adding a settler at the highest driving current, to allow gravity to supply the four existing terraces with four small reservoirs in a system of communicating vessels. This operation eliminates the cost of the pumping power in this area, and remain limited to the installation of drip dedicated to planting trees in hillside areas. Water collected in the current large deposit is being protected from evaporation by an insulating layer and fl oating, which features part of a treatment operation globalized protection of all areas.
