Market Summary ReportFebruary 2016

Soft CommoditiesCocoa Bean prices have fallen slightly (-1%) on both the London LIFFEand US ICE due to global supply and demand estimates being revisedupwards, but this doesn’t seem to have affected market prices whichremain high due to concerns of dry weather conditions for the new2015/16 crop. Cocoa Butter prices fell in the UK (-3%) but CocoaPowder pricing rose (+1%). EU Molasses remain stable.

Oils & FatsSoyabean oil prices fell in Rotterdam (-2%) but rose (+9%) on US CBOTon the back of increasing demand and reduced export figures. Palm Oilwas up (+8%) in Rotterdam, (+5%) Malaysia and (+2%) Indonesiadue mainly to an easing in production and concerns over Coconut Oilsupplies. Rapeseed Oil prices rose in Rotterdam by (+3%) again ondeclining global production. Sunflower oil rose (+8%) in the black seacountries but remains stable in Northwest Europe.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil fell in Spain by (-15%) early December but thiseasing was short lived on the back of heavy trading and a concern overa lack of rain to support the new 2016/17 crop causing sellers towithdraw from the market.

GrainsMilling Wheat prices rose marginally in Canada and the UK (+1%) withthe LIFFE Paris down (-5%). Colder conditions provide minor concerngiven there is reasonable snow coverage in most regions. Removal ofexport taxes sees Argentinian Wheat entering the global market andwith ample supply to sell out of the EU US and Russia prices remainstable to weak.

FruitApple prices in the EU remain down (-2%) and UK (-1%), whilstindustrial Apples rose in Poland (+17%). Apple processing in the EU isestimated to fall by 12% y-o-y due to lower domestic volumes.

IngredientsHazelnuts did see a decline in pricing (-13%) out of Turkey on the backof an expected large crop of over 700,00T though once again we seethis easing as buyers enter the market and demand picks up. Almondpricing fell in Spain (-4%) and the US by (-3%) whilst Peanuts rose by(+3%) in the US and Brazils also up by (+1%).

Dried Fruit prices remain significantly higher y-o-y following lowerproduction in the current season. Sultanas and Raisins did see areduction of around (-3%) at the end of the year but demand and

currency have halted the easing as prices start to sneak up again.

VegetablesEU Potato prices rose (+2%) with countries such as France realising amore significant increase (+18%) on the back of quality fears withregards to stored produce. Carrot prices continue to decline in Spain(-6%) and the UK (-11%). Tomato prices increased (+18%) acrossEurope as domestic demand increases.

Meat & PoultryAverage EU Deadweight Beef prices were down (-2%) driven by higherproduction, with a similar figure in the UK. Lamb Deadweight pricingwas up (+5%) in the EU and (+6%) in the UK on lower Lambproduction through the winter months. Low demand for Pig Meat sawa reduction of (-4%) across the EU with the largest fall (-9%) seen inFrance. Chicken also saw a reduction in the EU of (-2%) mainly down toslow export business going out to Hong Kong and Russia.

Milk & DairyUK farm gate milk price remains stable whilst EU butter pricing fell(-2%) due to falling Private Storage Aid stock lead to an increase inavailability. UK Cheddar pricing also remains stable with no change inthe UK Market. Skimmed Milk Powder continues to have a slightupturn in price following the increase in volumes going into PSA.
