The management team at Bailey Streetscene have built upon decades of expertise to produce a premium range of design-led street furniture, which has gained a deserved reputation for quality and excellence. At our 20000 sq ft production facility in Staffordshire we produce a comprehensive range of products including: Shelters and canopies, Seats, litter Bins, Tree Protection, Planters and School Furniture. We also produce bespoke products and structures to our client’s designs and specifications. Our head office and distribution centre is based in Cheshire and is ideally placed to supply our quality ranges of street furniture, through the north-west’s comprehensive network of motorways, to clients both nationally and internationally. Detail Bailey Streetscene where approached to tender for the external furniture and cycle shelters on the Tameside phase 2 BSF schemes.

Carillion appointed sub contractors to some of the schemes, but also commissioning the work direct on others.

Bailey StreetScene where not the specified supplier on these projects, but via product design & modification, layout & foundation detail assistance , were able to offer suitable

acceptable alternatives.

The architects, main and subcontractor were all engaged in the process from concept stage to realisation and costing conclusions.

The result was that the projects where supplied with bollards, tree grills, seating, canopies, cycle shelters, litter bins, poster cases, bespoke cast iron paving slabs & column

protects on time and to budget.

Bailey Streetscene also installed and supervised the shelter & canopy installations within the site regulations and construction standards set out by Carillion.

All method statements, risk & COSH assessments where provided in line with current regulations.

On completion of the works operation & maintenance manuals were produced in line with supply and installed products.

Bailey Streetscene are a relatively new supplier to Vinci on the education front (although supplying to other sectors of the business)

Via site meetings with product & documentation offers, the chance was gained to cost the first scheme, Bents Green.

Via consultation with the client and architect along with competitive tender, Bailey Streetscene where chosen to supply:

Bespoke cycle shelters, Seating and Litterbins, All Schedules promised were achieved.

Due to the performance on Bents Green a second scheme was tendered, Forge Valley.

On here Bailey Streetscene were chosen to supply a fully subcontract package (including installation) for:

• BREEAM standard cycle shelters

• Seating

• Litter bins

• Static & telescopic bollards

• Trimm Trail

All items were supplied and installed around the schemes limited timescale and within budget.

• O & M / RAMS documents produced Detail Bailey Streetscene were approached to tender for the first school in the Barnsley BSF programme for Laing O Rourke . Via competitive tender the scheme was won and successfully completed. The results lead to negotiations being opened to try and standardise where possible across the balance of the projects. All relevant documentation was produced to allow RDD (reviewable design data), this included site base and foundation layout detail, product imaging, dimensions and material specification. Bailey Streetscene successfully satisfied all design & costing criteria over the next 12 months which intern was approved by the local authority and the individual schools. Via architect and client consultation Bailey Streetscene were asked to supply the further sites (8 in total). As the schemes progressed Bailey Streetscene became more involved with the client, and from supply only on the first scheme, became a full subcontract provider via supply and install of cycle shelters & canopies, litter bins, bollards, seating & trim trail play equipment.

• O & M / RAMS documents produced Detail Bailey Streetscene were approach initially by the school direct, with a brief and budget detail requirements. The school had received funds via SUSTRANS and East Cheshire Council to renew the existing cycle shelters on site. Bailey Streetscene were able to offer a viable solution that surpassed the original required number of parking spaces requested ,but still remain in budget. Designs were offered to the client which helped them visualise the finished scheme, whilst the existing shelters were still in situ. Liaison was undertaken with contractors that were already working on site so that the limited timescales to manufacture and install the shelters could be achieved in sequence. The result was that the existing shelters were removed, the new area resurfaced and the new shelters installed all safely, on time & within budget.

The practice was commissioned by Laing O Rourke to produce landscape detail for 7 schools across phase 1 & 2 of the Barnsley BSF project. Bailey Streetscene where asked to liaise with AWP (as well as Laing O Rourke own in house design teams) to bring a successful conclusions to the landscape design pallet. The aim of bringing the material and supply side of the scheme to the stage of RDD (Reviewable Design Data), whilst still working within the budget and timescale restraints, was something that was undertake by Bailey Streetscene with effort and enthusiasm.
