1. Only matriculated education majors may enroll in core or specialization courses required for the BA in Education

2. No waivers are given for any core or specialization courses required for the BA in Education. *Must pass Core Academic Skills for

Educators test in order to take specialization/professional courses

3. No Pass/No Credit grades will not be accepted for any course in the Core & Specialization.

4. “D” grades or lower, or Incomplete grades (INC) are not acceptable for any general education, core or specialization courses

required for the BA in Education.

5. An overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0, and a 3.0 GPA in all BA in Education core and specialization courses.

6. Core and specialization courses required for the BA in Education may only be attempted twice.

7. Dates/times chosen by matriculated education majors for any BA in Education core and specialization courses with field

components will be considered final and will not be able to be changed after the last day of Extended Registration of each

semester.

8. Praxis Due Dates

9. Clinical Practice Application Due Dates (TK20):

a. Application Period for the Fall: First day of the Fall Semester to Nov. 30th

b. Application Period for the Spring: First day of the Spring Semester to April 30th

10. Grade Point Average Requirement

a. Summer courses that end prior to July 31st will satisfy transition point criteria

b. All other summer courses that resulted in a GPA below a 3.0 will result in removal from placement.

c. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for transition point courses.

11. Closing Registration for Clinical Experience Courses

a. Courses with field experiences will close on:

i. March 15th for the Summer

ii. April 30th for the Fall

iii. November 15th for the Spring

12. NJDOE Criminal History Clearance

a. All placement requirements must be submitted in TK20 by the following dates:

i. April 1st for the Summer

ii. August 1st for the Fall

iii. December 1st for the Spring

Academic Program Guide for New First-Year Students (Effective Fall 2018) Department of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics Education Students who entered Rowan University prior to Fall 2018 should follow the guide for their program and start year in consultation with their advisor.

Rowan University Graduation Requirements for all Majors / Degrees Students must complete at least 120 semester hours (sh) of coursework that apply to their Rowan University degree.

Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 in Rowan University coursework. (Transfer courses/credit do not count toward the RU GPA.)

A minimum of 30 sh of coursework must be completed at/through Rowan University.

Only grades of “D-” or above may apply to graduation/degree requirements. (Some programs may set higher minimums.)

Students must meet the Rowan Core and Rowan Experience Requirements. o An individual course can potentially satisfy one Rowan Core literacy and/or multiple Rowan Experience attributes. o Rowan Core & Rowan Experience designations are listed in course details in Section Tally (www.rowan.edu/registrar) and may also be searched on

Students must pass Praxis Core Test, have 3.0 GPA (overall and in Foundation courses) for entry to HPE program.

Students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher to enter clinical experience and clinical practice.

Students must pass the Praxis II Health & Physical Education (5857) prior to entering clinical experience.
