Azhar Iqubal is the Co-founder and CEO of News in Shorts (NIS). He started this venture along with his friends Anunay Arunav and Deepit Purkayastha in 2013. His Noida based startup is known for its India focused mobile news app ‘Inshorts’. He was studying Mathematics and Computing at IIT Delhi at the time when he started this venture and dropped out to pursue it full time. The aggregation of news stories into a crisp 60-word skeleton to fit into the device in your pockets made the mobile app a hit. At one point of time the app became the highest rated news app across playstore around the globe. The app crossed the million download landmark in first quarter of 2015 and is planning to cross 5 million mark by the end of 2015. We are proud to have him as a speaker of TEDx IIM Kashipur.
