History

Axium company was founded in 1989

• In 2014, C&S became majority shareholder of the Axium

Group

• Axium founder, Robert Jodoin, is still the acting president

involved in on-going operations


Introduction

Here is a quick introduction to the Axium Group:

• The Axium Group has been designing & developing automation solutions since 1989. The companies within the Axium group have a total of over 200 engineers & technicians, in the fields of mechanical, electrical, robotics, automation and controls.

• Our offices are located on the South Shore, Laval and in Montreal where we have a 80,000 square foot facility for manufacturing and assembly of integrated solutions.

• Our expertise covers, many aspects of modern day manufacturing plants such as electrical and mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes optimization, floor layouts, industrial IT systems, inspection systems, control panels, machine safety, lockout / tagout and more.

• We also specialize in innovative solutions for products handling, component assembly, packaging, palletizing, depalletizing and mixed palletizing.

Axium has developed this robotics crate depalletizing & pallet handling system for a company in the dairy industry

industries. Examples of solutions aimed at the personal care industry follow

Vision solutions

• SPG, Company member of the Axium Group, offers advanced

digital 2D and 3D vision solutions for the automated inspection

of products, quality assurance and to provide intelligent robot

guidance.

• SPG offers solutions designed for the food industry

• Application examples in the food industry:

– 3D scanning of bread to allow artisan cut by a robot: the

vision system will guide the robot to cut artisan stripes on

the bread, following the 3D curves of the bread.

– Color and shape inspection: a factory needs to verify that

the buns they made have the right dimensions and

cooking. The visions system can check the shape and the

color (cooking degree) of the buns.
