the dedicated infant version comes fitted with an additional harness separate from the waist belt to aid lifting infants in and out of the water. A lifeline attached to the infant lifejacket enables the infant to be tied to an adult or to a survival liferaft.

in 1957 the uK civil Aviation Authority issued a specification in order to find a solution to the unique problem of protecting infants in the event of an emergency air craft ditching. in response Survitec pioneered the baby Floating Survival cot, a solution that provided protection, comfort, space and contact between the occupant and the guardian, reducing the likelihood of trauma and stress to the infant.

MK44 Life Preserverthe MK44 Life Preserver is primarily intended for use by helicopter crews, but it is equally suitable for use in fixed-wing aircraft. it comprises a fully adjustable waistcoat and is available with either a single-chamber or a twin-chamber inflatable stole, which is contained within a protective pouch.

the front of the waistcoat and the stole pouch are manufactured from breathable, flame-retardant fabric. the back of the waistcoat is manufactured from mesh fabric to reduce heat discomfort and fatigue.
