• The primary skillsets we provide are A&P Mechanics, Structures/Sheet Metal Technicians, Avionics, and Inspectors. There are a few various other related skills that we provide also, for example: Supply Chain, Planning, Supervision.

• A&P Mechanics: Work Aircraft Systems such as flight controls,

landing gear, fuel system, engines along with operation and dispatch of the aircraft. They generally remove a bad component, replace it, operationally check out the system and get the aircraft ready to fly again. They are also responsible for limited sheet metal repairs and aircraft inspection in smaller organizations. They are the proverbial “Jack Of All Trades”. They are generally licensed with an FAA A&P license.

• Sheet Metal / Structures Technicians: Sheet Metal Technicians perform tasks such as repairing aircraft

skin and skeletal structure. If an aircraft requires modification structurally or repair from damage it will be accomplished by a sheet metal technician. The commonly have the ability to read and understand blueprints and complex engineering documents. The have the ability to drill close tolerance holes and assemble metal parts that they have fabricated.

Keep in mind that an experienced Sheet Metal or Structures technician will be well qualified to perform tasks associated with new aircraft assembly, the opposite is not true. A technician with only assembly experience will not have the experience assessing and repairing damage to the airframe and structure and likely will not have the part fabrication experience.

• Avionics Technicians: Avionics Technicians install, troubleshoot and repair

most anything that has wires running to it for power. Avionics Techs are generally responsible for Cockpit instruments and systems, navigation and autopilot, and the aircraft lighting (which can be significant in an airliner type aircraft).

Avionics Install Technicians build and manufacture and install wiring bundles and runs on new aircraft construction or aircraft major modification. An Avionics tech with install only experience may not have the ability to repair and troubleshoot aircraft systems.

• Inspectors: Quality Control or Quality Assurance Inspectors

review, inspect, and sign off all work at most major aviation operations. When an aircraft arrives at a facility for a scheduled visit, they inspect the aircraft, write up any items to be worked, and perform the final sign off (referred to as “buyback”) after the work is completed by mechanics or technicians. The are generally the key players ensuring that all work is completed and done properly prior to an aircraft being released back into service from a maintenance organization. They also perform X-Ray and Non Destructive Testing of aircraft.
