• A statutory organisation established in 1982 under the Vocational Training Council Ordinance

• 13 member institutions providing comprehensive vocational and professional education and training (VPET) and seamless progression pathway for career advancement and lifelong learning

Manpower Development for Aviation Industry

• In response to Government policy direction, provide manpower support for developing Hong Kong as an international aviation centre

• To sign MoU with Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) in April 2017 for curriculum development and student industrial attachment

• To equip training facilities and offer enriched training programmes for grooming young talent for public transport industry in Hong Kong

• To attract new blood through technology enhanced learning

and STEM education

To Enhance the Existing Training Capacity

• In the 2017 Policy Address, the Government has supported the VTC in principle to construct the Aircraft and Marine Engineering Centre (AMEC) on the site of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi)

• Provide a one-stop-quality training environment for the aviation and marine engineering programmes at VTC

• A 8-storey building of 9,800 m2 NOFA located at IVE(Tsing Yi) campus

• With laboratories, workshops, a multipurpose hall and an education centre

• Estimated Cost : HK$780 M
