Customer Information

What’s this?

• The AutoCampaigner can store maximum of 8000 telephonenumbers.

• Each number can be of maximum 16 digits in length.

• The AutoCampaigner organizes its data in 4 lists.

• Each of the list can house 2000 numbers.

• A port is assigned to the list. All the numbers of the list are

dialed out on this port and the same message is played to them.

This is very useful in delivering customized messages to a set of

people.• More than one or all ports can be assigned to one list. In this

case the calls are made in rotation method from the ports.

• If more than one list of numbers have to receive the same

message then the same port can be assigned to the different

lists.

How to program?

The telephone numbers can be programmed in the list in two ways:

• Telephone

• Computer

Using Telephone

Use the following command to program the telephone numbers into

a list:

258-List-Telephone Number Where,

List is 0 to 3

Telephone number is a maximum of 16 digits. If the length of the

telephone number is less than 16 digits terminate it with #*.

258-0-0265234567#*

Using Computer

1. The numbers to be uploaded to the system are first keyed into

a text file and saved with a relevant name on the Computer. Thefile containing the numbers should adhere to the following

constraints.

• It should consist numbers (0-9) and the valid special digit (#3

only).

• The end of file must be always marked with $.

• Every number should be separated by <↵>.

2. Open the HyperTerminal. (Start→ Programs → Accessories

Default Configuration

What’s this?

Every system comes with pre-defined set of variables like systemtimers, port parameters, extension parameters, system timings, etc.

These pre-defined settings are called default settings. The default

value of each programmable parameter is mentioned in the

respective section.

When to use it?

Many times it happens that due to some programming error, the

system goes haywire and you are unable to analyse the problem.During such situation, it is advisable to load default values in the

AutoCampaigner.

How to use it?

Use following command to load default values in the

AutoCampaigner:

233-Reverse SE Password  (Programming Password)

Important Points:

• On issuing this command, the system restarts.

• All on-going communication will stop.

• All the programmed parameters are set to default value.

• The recorded messages are retained.

The SE password becomes 1234. The SE can enter the SE modeand reprogram the complete system. Please note that this remedy

must be used only as last resort.

Interfacing the AutoCampaigner with a PBX

What’s this?

The AutoCampaigner can be interfaced with any PBX.

The ports of the AutoCampaigner should be connected to the

extension port of the PBX using a single pair telephone cable.

In the above figure, all the four ports of the AutoCampaigner are

interfaced with the PBX.

How it works?

The AutoCampaigner is connected on extension of the PBX.

To dial out the number from the AutoCampaigner the station

connected to the AutoCampaigner has to go off hook, wait for the

dial tone, dial the trunk access code (grab the trunk), wait for the

dial tone of the trunk and then dial out the number. That is the

AutoCampaigner has to wait (pause) for some time before dialingout the number from the list.

A pause can be generated by a inserting a “#3” in the telephone

number, when it is uploaded via the computer or “,” in the

telephone number when it is uploaded via the telephone.

A pause timer is required to be programmed to generate the pause

time for the system before dialing out the numbers.

AutoCampaigner User’s Guide36

How to program?

Use the following command to program the pause timer:

214-Pause Timer

Where,Pause Timer is from 1 to 9 secs.

By default, Pause Timer is 2 seconds.

Example:

Program the pause timer as 4 secs.

214-4

Now when dialing out the numbers, if the AutoCampaigner finds anumber string #30265234567, it waits for 4 seconds before dialing

out the string 0265234567.

07:00 PM to 09:00 PM i.e. 19:00 to 21:00. (Just to ensure all are back from work). Even if the message is 4 minutes in length and

including other overheads like (time between 2 consecutive calls

pause timer), one message delivery takes a maximum of 5 minutes.

That means 12 calls/port/hour. In two hours a total of 24 calls/port.

That is 96 calls across all the four ports in 21 hours. So a list of

1000 can be covered in 11 days.

Use the following command to program the Start time and Endtime for a list:

252-List-Start Time-End Time

Where,

List is from 0 to 3

Start Time is from 00:00 to 23:59

End Time is from 00:00 to 23:59

By default, the start time and end time are 00:00.

While programming, care to be taken to program the End time

greater than the Start time.

 Scheduled Mode

This is useful when timebased delivery of messages is required i.e.

there is a need for the AutoCampaigner to dial out numbers and

deliver messages depending on the day (Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday Etc.) and the time of the dialing. A day can be divided

in three timezones viz. Morning, Afternoon and Evening hours.

Each day of the week can be programmed for different Morning

hours, Afternoon Hours and Evening Hours. Such a schedule for a

week is called a timetable. Thus, a timetable is a schedule of three

timezones, for every day of the week. AutoCampaigner

accommodates 4 timetables.

Where,

List is from 0 to 3

Time Table is from 0 to 3

This command is applicable to the lists for which the dialing mode

is Scheduled.

This dialing mode finds key application in Telemarketing.

Assume that a company decides to telemarket a promotional

scheme for a new product in the city. The telephone numbers of

the city residents is keyed into the four lists. The Company decides

to use the Morning hours (9.00 to 12.30) and Evening hours (4.30

to 8.00) for marketing. The timetable can be created by programming the Morning and Evening hours for each day. The

Time table can be assigned to the lists. The system will

automatically start making the calls and give out the recorded

message to the called person following the programmed timetable.

Regularly the progress reports of the lists can be downloaded to

check the number of successful, pending and failed calls i.e. call

status. Once the existing lists are successfully completed new lists

can be uploaded to cover up more people of the city.

Please note that there is no requirement for the timezones to

converted 4 hour span of the day.

Port Assignment

After programming the dialing mode and dependent parameters for

the lists, it is important to assign ports to the list. The numbers of

the list will be dialed out from the assigned ports. One, many or allthe ports can be assigned to a list.

Use following command to assign the ports to the list:

When assigning a port to a list, please ensure that the port is

enabled. Even if a disabled port is assigned to the list the system

accepts the command but is unable to dial out the numbers. This

can lead to the list not being dialed out. If two ports are assigned to

the list and the first one is disabled then the numbers are dialed out

from the second port.

Example:Assume list 0 is uploaded successfully. Assign automatic dialing

mode to the list. Program the Start time as (07:00 AM). Program

the End time to stop dialing as (11:00 AM). Assign port 1 and port

How to use it?

1. System Engineer calls the AutoCampaigner.

2. System Engineer gets the dial tone.

3. The SE inputs the password.4. If the password is correct the System Engineer gets the

 programming tone else error tone.

5. The SE inputs the commands as per requirements.

6. Every valid command input by the SE is responded with a

confirmation tone.

7. Every invalid command is responded with a error tone.

Important Points:• The dial tone remains for 15 seconds and the caller is expected

to input the SE password within that time. Else, the caller gets

an error tone (for 3 seconds). After this the caller again gets the

dial tone. This repeats for 3 times afterwhich the call is

disconnected.

• After receiving the programming tone (which remains for 15

seconds) the caller has to input the valid command. If no digit is

dialed the system gives an error tone (for 3 secs). The caller

again gets programming tone. This repeats for 3 times

afterwhich the call is disconnected.

• At any instance of time, dialing ‘0’ disconnects the call (exit

from programming mode).

Report Generation

What’s this?

• The AutoCampaigner stores the status of each number in thelist.

• Every number is marked as either

• Pending (Not dialed)

• Successful (Dialed and message delivered)

• Fail (Dialed out but message not delivered because the

number was found busy or no reply)

• Various Reports can be generated from these stored details.

These are helpful for analysis.• Separate reports can be generated for pending calls, successful

calls or failed calls.

• Reports can be generated for individual list i.e. reports of only

the pending numbers of list1 can be generated or report of only

failed numbers of list2 can be generated or report of pending

number of all the lists can be generated.

• The report generation can be initiated from the telephone or Computer.

• All the reports are diverted to the Computer.

System Parameters

What’s this?

System Parameters include:• Real Time Clock

• System Timers

• Retry Count

Real Time Clock (RTC)

The AutoCampaigner is equipped with built in Real Time Clock

(RTC) circuit. This circuit is to be set once with current date, day

and time values. It then updates itself regularly to keep track of the parameters. However, please note that the RTC circuit can drift

over a long period. Hence it is recommended to check and reset

RTC values at least once every month to correct this drift.

How to program?

Use following command to set the date parameters:

221-Date-Month-Year Where,

Date = 01 to 31 (leading zero must in case of single digit date)

Month = 01 to 12 (leading zero must in case of single digit month)

Year = Year in four digits( i.e 2004,1999 etc.)
