DisplayIssuesForDrawingswithLargeCoordinates

Insomesituations,AutoCADLandDesktopmodelsmaynotbedisplayedcorrectlywhenrendered,animated,orviewedwithcertainvisualstyles.Themodelorpartsofitdisappear,donotdisplaymaterials,ormayappeartohaveholes.

Usuallytheseerrorsoccurifthedrawinghaslargecoordinates.Ifyouxrefthedrawingintoanotherdrawingandmovetheorigintoalowercoordinate(closerto0,0),theviewingcommandswillworkasexpected.

Topreventthesedisplayerrors

1. OpenthedrawinginAutoCADLandDesktop.

2. Zoomtotheextentsofthedrawing.

3. Movethedrawingcursortotheapproximatecenterofthegraphicsextents.

4. Writedownthecoordinates(X,Y,Z).

5. StartanewdrawingfromoneoftheAutoCADLandDesktoptemplates.

6. Attachtheoriginaldrawingasanxref.

7. Specifytheinsertionlocationas(-X,-Y,-Z),usingthecoordinatesyouobtainedinStep4aboveandenteringminus(-)signsinfrontofeach.Thiswillresultintheapproximatecenterofthegraphicsextentsbeingpositionedat0,0whenthexrefisattached.

8. Renderthedrawingorsetyourspecificvisualstyle.

FilterExpressions

UsingCalculatedFieldsWhenQueryingtoFilterData

Ifyouuseacalculatedfieldwhenqueryingtofilterdata,youmayseeanFDOerrormessage.Toaddressthiserrorandcontinuewithyourquery,simplyrefreshthelayer.


OtherKnownIssues

CoordinateSystemsMayDisplayIncorrectly

CertainSHPfoldersmaycontainerroneously-formedWellKnownText(WKT)coordinateprojectiondescriptionsintheir.PRJfiles.Inthesecases,thecoordinatesystemreportedintheDataConnectdialogmayappeartobeincorrect.DependingontheactualWKTtextencountered,thediscrepancymaybeinnocuous,andthedatawillbeaddedtothemapcorrectly.Forexample,someWGS-84Lat-LonWKTstringsmayinadvertentlybereportedasanotherLat-Loncoordinatesystem,suchasAntarctic98.LL(whichhasthesamemathematicaldefinitionasLL84).

Tofixthisproblem,replicatethelicenseserverpathinformationstoredintheabovepathtogototheHKLM\software\FLEXlmLicenseManagerpath.

Hardware

GraphicsCardDriverUpdate

Forthebestprogramperformance,verifyandupdateyourgraphicscarddriver.Formoreinformation,seeGraphicsCardDriverUpdate.

RemoteAccessApplications
