Main Phone 718 The Sooner Magazine Alumni Clubs Active A SOONER Alumni club was organized at Hugo and special luncheons were held at Durant and McAlester early in February with Lewie Hardage and John "Bo" Rowland, Sooner football coaches, and Frank S. Cleckler, Alumni secretary, as special guests . Fannie Glenn, '20as, '29M .A ., Hugo, was elected president at the organization meeting presided over by O. A. "Dutch" Brewer, '17as, '20law . Sixty-five alumni were present . A number of them were from Antlers and Idabel . It was voted that the new club should draw its membership from the three communities. Louie Gossett, '23law, Antlers, was elected vice-president and Bitsy Cook, '31 as, was chosen secretary-treasurer . The two Sooner coaches and the Alumni secretary made reports of news from the University and at all three meetings Coach Hardage showed motion picture films of Sooner football games of the past season . James W . Batchelor, '28as, '29law, was chairman at the Durant meeting at which forty alumni were present . The luncheon was held in the Bryan hotel . Dr . Benjamin B. Kies, '28med, presided at the McAlester meeting which was at- tended by twenty-five Sooners . Coaches Hardage and Rowland and Secretary Cleckler will attend other alum- ni club meetings throughout the state dur- ing spring . Motion pictures of the Sooner- Vanderbilt game, the Sooner-Nebraska game and the Sooner-Texas game will be shown by Coach Hardage who is becom- ing an expert motion picture operator . He shows the films in slow motion and points out mistakes and brilliant plays made by the football teams . Among the Sooners present at the Hugo meeting were Mary Elizabeth Warren Hughes, Fannie Glenn, Marjorie Martin Caylor, Gladys Mabry Brewer, Wilma Wickizer Rodgers, J . Lee Rodgers, Mr . and Mrs. Wayne Miller, Ed Bennett and Ralph M. Shelton, all of Hugo ; Olen Mc- Kinney, Louis Schwiening, Dick Dudley, J . H . Heald, and Louie Gossett, all of Antlers ; John A. Bryan, of Nelson ; and I . R . Armstrong, of Durant . Those present at McAlester included T. L. Metcalf, Ike Tarver, Walter J. Ar- note, K . S. Coleman, W. S. Horton, W. G. Johnson, Dr . Benjamin B.
