Meet Our Newest Addition,Susan Perkins
Susan comes to us from Denver, Colorado. She moved to Illinois in the summer of 2014 with her husbandand three children ages, 14, 11 and 7. Her 11 year old son, Jake, was diagnosed two years ago withautism, and so Susan has experience with autism as a parent. Susan's education is in psychology andshe holds a Master of Arts degree in Agency Counseling. She worked for 10 years in community mentalhealth as a case manager for chronically mentally ill adults. As her family grew, Susan decided to give
more time to her family and served several years in three different Colorado churches as a Director ofChildren's Ministries. All of these experiences have prepared Susan for her role here at Options andAdvocacy and Susan is excited to return helping people and families as a Service Coordinator for the
Autism Support Program. In her free time, Susan likes to spend time with her children and husband, read, knit, workout and volunteer at her kids' schools and her church.
