Water only when your lawn needs it! How often you water your lawn will depend on the weather,thetypeofgrassandsoilyouhave.

Lawnsshouldbepartlydriedoutbetweenwaterings.Thisletsinairtotherootsystem,stimulates deeper root formation and creates a more drought resistant lawn.

Watering every day or every other day is bad for your lawn and leads to disease and a shallow root system.

Winter watering is generally not necessary unless it is an abnormally dry season. During warmermonths,agooddeepwateringoncetotwiceaweekwillbesufficient.

Time of Day

Watering your lawn should be avoided during the heat of the day. Water in the early morning or evening to minimize water loss through evaporation.

Santa Ana also has excellent low temperature color retention; it is the most shade tolerant of the couches. Neverremovemorethanonethirdoftheleafatanygivenmowing,Ifyourlawnhasbecomeexcessivelylong,mowatthehighestsetting,graduallyloweringmowerheightwith each subsequent mowing.

Thecorrectmowingheightwillvarydependingonthevarietyofturfyouhaveinstalled,the time of the year and the growth rate. For further advice ask your mowing contractor or our consultants.

During warmer months an increase in mowing height is recommended for healthier lawn. Avoid mowing wet grass and always keep your mower blades sharp.

Turf Culture Maximiser Gorganicallybreaksdownovertime,soitshouldbere-appliedmonthlythroughoutthegrowingseason(springthroughtoautumn),particularlyinsandy,hydrophobic soils.
