The entire month of August is designed around showing you principles, keys, and code-breaking truths to get you through this transition point much easier with God on your side. Leadership. Unity. Humility. Serving. Break through with Godly keys that work. Right here—weekends at Res Life.

and audio files that you can download for free. Send one to a friend today!

INFLUENCE MESSAGES Have you ever realized that the first weekend of the month is geared toward leadership? God calls us to be leaders in all areas of our lives. The Influence Message for August is all about being willing and obedient. We’ll hear how the youth mission trip students and adults put this into action. Don’t miss the life-giving message on August 1st and 2nd.

WHAT’S IN A SONG? Every month our music department searches for new and fresh music that speaks to the Father’s heart.

Desert Song, by Hillsong is a song that was introduced at the last two Vespers Nights of Worship. This song talks about giving God praise in all seasons of our lives. Sometimes we have hard times within our economy, our families or jobs. We need to remember that God is bigger than every situation we face.

When we are going through all of the trials in life we must remember that God knows the bigger picture. He has plans to give us a future and a hope. We must seek Him with all of our hearts and when we do, His promise is that He will bring us back from captivity. Let’s learn how to give God praise in every season!

ent ENCOUNTER— A SPIRITUAL WORKOUT

Throughout the month of August, we’ll be looking into the following life-changing truths in Encounter; Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm.

August 5 We have God’s power. Learn how to release it!

August 12 How much authority God’s Word has in your life, dictates how much power God releases in your life.

August 19 Pursue Leadership meeting. (See below.)

August 26 Learn who your enemy is. Strengthening your relationship with Christ here on Wednesday nights is a goal for us. Pastor Ron gives us the Word, time to look up scriptures at our tables with discussion, Question & Answer time and prayer at the end. Every week we hear testimony after testimony of what God is doing through this mid-week service. Bring the whole family. The kids will love what we have for them!

What people are saying

about Encounter . . .

“A lot of things and areas that the

Holy Spirit has been teaching me

have just been confirmed here. It’s

been good!”

“Taught me more about God and

how to pray. Answered a lot of

my questions.”

“The difference that we’ve learned

between proclamations and declara-

tions has changed the way I pray. It’s

really neat to see God’s answer to

prayers because of declarations I’ve

made. I no longer think it’s ‘weird’

when someone prays over someone

else and lays hands on them. I’ve

seen answers because I’ve been bold

enough to do so—hallelujah!”

GUEST RECEPTION We want to celebrate 164 guests in the months of April through June! We were blessed to connect with 29 of them more intimately through our new Guest Reception Ministry on July 11 and 12.

This event is designed to allow new attendees the opportunity to meet the leadership of the church and others who recently experienced Res Life.

PURSUE LEADERSHIP WITH US AUGUST 19! We will be focusing on the qualities of an influential leader named Fred at our next Pursue Leadership meeting. Our latest Personal Growth Resource, The Fred Factor, describes how a person can have an extraordinary influence on the daily lives of others. We will study the attitudes, actions, and habits that Fred exhibits in his daily life and how they have an impact on those around him—then consider how we could apply some of these attributes in our own lives, work place, and here at Res Life.

The next Pursue Leadership is set for Wednesday, August 19th at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary. The children’s program will be running as usual, so bring the fam for a night of growing.

YOUTH MISSION TRIP TO GUATEMALA Through all of the emotions we experience when heading off or sending a family member to the mission field, it’s hard to put into words just what we see God doing. To help you relate,

here are a few photos from the trip. After conducting vacation Bible school in four villages in Guatemala, the team made it home safe late Thursday night, July 23. Your support makes changes possible in people’s lives! You will want to plan on making it to the weekend

services of August 1 and 2. There will be eye-watering testimo-nies all month long as the team shares what God did in them and through them. Mark your calendar and bring a friend

who needs to see how far-reaching our God is!

DAD & ME: JULY 31ST Come join us for this unforgettable event for children and their dads! Building stronger bonds between fa-thers and their children, as well as breaking down barriers that may exist. You don’t want to miss this event for kids ages 4-12. Bring hope to a family and invite them for fun and ministry!

3RD ANNUAL CAR SHOW SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 The second annual Res Life car show was fantastic. The third show set for August 9, 2009 will be even bigger! There were around 100 cars registered last year and almost as many volun-teers helped serve. Check out the photos on the website to get an idea how much fun is about to happen! Catch the excitement by signing up to help bring food for the free dinner (that is open to everyone) or get in-volved in one of many other areas.

Bring a friend and let’s reach out to the community together! Registration is from 2:00-4:00 pm with the show running from 4:00-8:00 pm.

incredible month that has reflected our goals of serving, relationship-building, and clearly-communicated truths! Revolution hosted an expo, where 41 students signed-up for various serving opportunities within the student community (23 of the students have never served within the student community!).

We also had 7 new students commit to H.A.B.I.T.S., a program that en-courages spiritual development through devotional time, account-ability, Bible memorization, involve-ment in the church, a commitment to tithing, and studying of Scripture.

Throughout July, students learned how to avoid being “hooked” by the world. We’ve learned that accepting truth and growing in our friendship with God and others increases our chances of avoiding being “hooked” by temptation.

Revolution welcomes all high school and middle school students to join us on Sunday nights from 5:30 – 8:30 pm for fun games and activi-ties, to meet new students, serve, and hear an intriguing service that encourages spiritual growth.

NEW YOUNG ADULTS MINISTRY LAUNCHING IN AUGUST! If you ever want to be part of some-thing big then jump on board with The Nine! This ministry is purposed towards bringing young adults into a community environment and is interested in 18- to 26-year olds both in and outside of the church. Be looking for kick off events and community-building fun to start in August!

MOVE, GROW, LOVE IN KIDS’ CHURCH! We are designing lessons for the Nursery (6 weeks to 2 years) so children at the youngest age can start to learn about God. This is a ministry where we have the chance to show God's love and allow the parents to go freely into the service to be minis-tered to themselves or to serve.

In Lil' K (the 3 and 4-year old class) we are starting a new teaching format that is similar to Ignite. Teachers are now being empowered to teach each lesson that is specifi-cally written for each weekend. We are excited to see these leaders grow and develop in their ability to minister to your valuable children.

This past month in Ignite (K – 3rd grade) we finished up a series called H.A.B.I.T.S. We have heard great testimonies of parents and kids do-ing their Hang Time Journals which help kids get into a daily routine of reading their Bibles, memorizing scriptures, praying, and writing down what they have been learning and praying about.

Momentum (4th and 5th grade) is coming to the end of their “world tour” through specific locations. Each area had a central theme that spoke specifically to them about God. They have learned things like: "Is my foundation allowing me to stand firm or to start falling?" or “If you let God invade, you'll be made!”

REVOLUTION STUDENTS Revolution Student Community is currently celebrating our God-given success for July – we have had an
