Greetings parents and welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! On behalf of everyone at IDEA Mission CP, we thank you for entrusting your children to us! We are committed to excellence for each one of our students. To effectively carry out our mission, we need you to be an active participant in your child’s education – as we all know, it takes a village to educate a child. Our goal is for our students to be 100% college ready. In order to get there, we are asking that you please ensure you child is reading at least one hour in the evening. Reading is a skill that will help them become better writers, which will help them learn how to think critically – skills that will greatly enhance their educational success. In addition, each student should be studying a minimum of TWO hours per night. These two hours should be divided into:
1- Completing homework 2- Re-reading classroom notes 3- Working on projects
Two hours per night, every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday – is truly not a lot to ask, especially considering that the average teenagers spends an average of THREE hours per day on their phones. Finally, student attendance is critical to success. We need your child in school every day on time (7:30AM) in class. We are only a call or email away. Please reach out to us with suggestions, questions or feedback. Below the names and work numbers for each one of our teachers and assistant principal. My administrative assistant is Mrs. Narda Guajardo, (956) 605-6720. To a great year! Yvonne Anglada Principal

I am super excited to start the year with the Class of 2017! The first week was wonderful and I have been so impressed with this group of students. Here is some important information for the school year:
>Tutoring for AP Biology will be Mondays after school until 5:30. >Homework will be due every Friday and Monday. >There will be a test or quiz every Friday. >Stamp sheets (with your signature) are due every Friday. These keep track of the students' work and provide you with weekly feedback on how your student is performing in class. >The AP test is Monday, May 8th!
Highlights from the week include 100% mastery on exit tickets (4th and 6th period), setting SMART goals, and holding excellent debates during catalyst (students know how to provide evidence to a claim and disagree respectfully). Here's to a fantastic rest of the year! Go Phoenix! -Ms. Rogowski
